This is "Patch", my old '84 Xcab short (~72") bed yota Expi/Chase truck on OEM GM 63's:
I gotta think that spring under and measuring the spring length along the curve is the only way a '63 inch' spring is going to fit under an EB. Even though they only cycled about 12", those springs made a HUGE difference to the way that truck performed.
I have I think most of the front end done. Could not afford bypass shocks right now. Have my 14” Kings with King bumpstoos and limit straps. I will have to clearance my driveshaft joints for full drop. Now the rear end.
Keep in mind that the axle with the most roll stiffness will have the least cornering traction. Does it push or does it plow now? Start with how do you want it to corner?
If you're going to want it to "rally car" around corners (ala RG) you're going to want a rear bar. If you're going to want to do this only on occasion then it needs to be a bar that you can engage or disengage from the driver's seat. There's a couple ways to do this, none trivial.
I'd plan on one for both ends, leave yourself the place to mount them, and then drive it w/o first.
rcmbronc,
Agree sway bar is undefined until you drive. Having said that with rear leafs I seriously doubt that any sway bar front or rear will be appropriate for just about any driving condition. I have a sway bar on my EB, but my rear is linked with coil overs, A much different setup that you are doing. Might want to re read post 29.
PS, Your front setup looks good.
