225 75 15 is probably a current size that is close to the original. I think original size was like a g78 x 15 but not sure what exactly it means. Do you have a stock & uncut bronco you are trying to make 100% correct ? I just removed 235 75 15 tires from my stocker because I wanted to go a bit bigger & more aggresive. I put on BFG 30 x 9.5 x 15 & this is about as big as you can get on a stock/uncut.

Original tires varied by load rating
E78 x 15
G78 x 15
L78 x 15
7.00 x 15

The 7 x 15 was the heavy duty truck tire, the others were passenger car tires.

I believe the 7" was tread width rather than section width as modern tires are measured. 7" = 178mm, so a 225 section width would probably be close.

What height are stock tires? Trying to figure the ratio for 35s back to stock.

I have the owners manual for my 74, and it lists the E78 for 4300 and 4450, and G78 for 4500 and 4900. I believe the larger sizes were optional.

Here is another conversion chart

http://www.angelfire.com/on/geebjen/tires.html

It lists the E78 as 26.6" the G78 as 27.7"

Diameter of P metrics are easy to calculate. Say 225/75-15
225 is the section width, 75 is the aspect ratio.
225 x .75 = 168.75 this is the height from tread to rim

168.75 x 2 = 337.5mm = 13.29
13.29 + 15 = 28.28"

nebraska tire has some 7-15 mud tires for $69 right now. that size is almost obsolete with aggressive tread
