I say just clear-coat it and be done! Sure would be cool to see all of that pristine metal and primer and other stuff all in it's glory.;);D

Of course you know I'm kidding, since I'm waiting to hear about the Lizard Skin.
But it would still be cool.

Hmmm, clear Lizard Skin! A new product lineup for them!%)

How much is too much? I received this 23 gallon gas tank from BC after waiting 8 weeks to get it, I was a little bummed when I opened the box, every corner was warm through, the metal is very wavy and there are nice scratch marks. My guess is this was received by BC Bronco by their vendor and sent out knowing it was tweaked, my guess anyway. They are super busy and let this one out the door. Your thoughts are welcome..

Nice! Glad you took the time and made the effort to get it up inside all the little nooks. Getting the inside of the wheel wells, door pillars and doors themselves will go a long way towards the goal of being as quiet as you can get it.

I like the color and texture too. Looks like a nice undercoating.
You should probably send pics to Lizard Skin for them to show customers what it looks like.;)

That looks great! Just started following your thread as I'm about to get started on mine.

Did you use an epoxy primer under the lizard skin? How did the lizard skin spray? Are you putting lizard on inside of the tub also?

Yes, I prepped the entire underside that I was texturing with two generous coats of epoxy primer, then I seam sealed everything I could, re-shot the seam sealer with more primer and then shot two coats of Sound Control. I will shot the heat shield on mostly the fire wall and the front half of the cab. I got four buckets of sound and two buckets for heat shield. I took two full buckets to shoot the tub and another one to shoot the doors and rear wheel wells and door interiors. I will also spray the front wells once I get them welded up.

Your gas tank looks ok to me if youre really worried about it call them and tell them whats up, otherwise get some gloss black rustoleum spray it and call it good! No one will see it once its under the truck :)

If I can make a recommendation (as if you could shut me up anyway!) if you have enough of the heat control, I would spray it down the entire passenger side floor pan until you run out.
The hottest part of the Bronco is usually the front passenger foot-well (which of course you'll get with the firewall coverage) but the same area under the floor, including back to and behind the passenger seat where the muffler resides.
I even have a catalytic converter there on mine, so you can bet that in addition to the LS coating I'm going to add a physical heat shield as well.

Basically, as long as you have the material, run it all down the side where the exhaust is going to run.

I spayed two pales of heat control between the firewall and seat area. The heat control is finer and kind of evens out the rougher sound control. I am going to put on several coats of primer and then hopefully pain the bottom this weekend.

I finished the front wheel wells today very happy the way they turned out. I left the texture away from the edges where the two parts come together so there is a tight fight.. Will find out soon enough..

I would agree that your tank looks fine. Mine was similar and the waves appear to be from where they have to weld the internal baffles to the inside of the tank.

I don't know if they still sell them, but I have a 1/4" skid plate designed for the BC tank on mine and it hides any imperfections on the tank itself. I can get a pic if you are interested.

Your build is looking great BTW! I am at a similar point in my build "Harbour Blue Build Thread". I hope to be spraying some liner soon.

Better to get pictures of his installed, but in the meantime here's the basic layout for the Sherman:
Sherman Tank Skid Plate

At 3/16" it would be lighter duty than a 1/4" plate of course, but have a similar shape and layout I would think.

Thanks DirtDonk. That is the one I have. I was mistaken with the thickness. It is 3/16".

I will snap a pic after work.

Here are the pics of the skid plate I promised you. Utilizes the same rails as the gas tank.
