Any 1 able, ready and willing to name a rattle can # 60s ford light blue engine color in Duplicolor or Rustolum?
I wuz a prts guy @ AutoZone for a half decade...any of theirs - Advance, O'Ryle's, NAPA (the preferred), Home Depot, Lowes, True Value (Ace Hrdw), Walmart...

I found some specialty paint (spray can) at an auto paint specialist but it was off too. Keep gettin Ford Corporate Dark Blue. Toyota's close but no cigar.

Don't wanna go to pnume spray (PPP or other) as I have such a sm amount to paint (set up, clean the gun, thin, mix'n measure, etc) just went thru that w/the engine bay (primer, paint), over hundred fifty $ for a gal, etc.

~ Thanks ~

Ford engine blue, found this on a thread in a Ford truck forum, it's from a few years ago:

Duplicolor has three Ford blues in their engine paint rattle can line of products. They are "Dark Ford Blue" 1606, "Ford Blue" 1601, and "Old Ford Blue" 1621.

This is Dupli-Color Ford Blue. It's the lightest one I found of the Ford Blues.

wimbelton white? argent white? xxx white?
It really helps if company name and product number is used.
Otherwise it's just a wild goose chase - @ least that was my experience when following up on this.
I agree w/the Duplicolor #s. I've seen that B4 & 1601 may B it. Hafta re-check.

Tractor & Implement Ford Blue/Safety Blue

New Holland Blue

Light Ford Gray

Ford Red/Safety Red

Tractor paint? Farm implement paint?
Not always the same as car paint.

The gray Ford used for engines after 1981 was more a Battleship Gray, and at some point in the 1990s Ford stopped painting engines except for valve covers.
Not really relevant to our Broncos.

My apologies.... Forgot my audience. You are 100% correct and I have been humbled. To think that I suggested using "implement paint" on an engine block in the same conversation with rattle-can rustoleum and dupicolor. Please do not cast your eyes on my horrible looking engine block or any of the others I have defiled over the years, I just could not bear the shame.....

I don't THINK he meant in a paint quality sense as a dig against you, maybe more about colors, as in "Ford Gray" used on old 9N tractors is not the same "Ford Gray" on engines

I think implement paint would be fine on an engine, heck on any tractor they use the same paint on the engine, chassis, hood, etc

/\/\ Exactly!
This is a discussion about getting the paint color we want.

The paint colors of Ford tractors and implements are not the same as their car and light truck paint colors.
