Hi I am restoring a 1972 Bronco ( very first time)…. I am having a hard time finding a 96 Ford explorer 5.0 4WD car to convert it to my bronco..... is there another motor and trans with transfer case I can use that will fit in as good as an explorer motor?

You can piece together — 2WD motor explorer or mountaineer and then find trans elsewhere. or vice versa find one with blown motor and good trans.

Ford Explorers had the 5.0 V8 from 96’-01’. Don’t limit yourself to just the 96’. The 4R70w trans had some good improvements starting in 98’. The newer, the less miles typically.
