Coil pack mount is about done. Should be cost effective to make.

Thoughts?

Thanks guys! I am hopeful I can shorten it and make it less wide. Fingers crossed!

any chance you could make a 351w specific upper to bolt to a truck lower? That would bring the cost of the conversion down substantially from gt40.

Probably not. I think it would be easier/ cheaper/ better for ford to just make the lower again. I know they still have the mold.

I cant believe no aftermarket company makes a gt40 round hole style 351 lower.

I am having a hard time paying $500 for a 25 year old used lower intake, but I need one damnit. lol

Is that so different from paying $30,000 for a vehicle that didn't cost $5,000 when new 45 years ago?

It may be more effective to make a spacer akin to BCs to get a gt40 pattern adapted to the truck lower.

It would be another mold. The issue with the truck lower is that it sits too high.

Steel GT40 intake lowers were on a ton of boats in the 90s. I know they can be found for cheaper. I was told by ford that the GT40 Lightening lower could be made again. Since they still have all the tooling. I guess they have brought it back a few times? Someone needs to talk them into it:)

With the GT40 holes being staggered it would need to be a pretty tall adapter to redirect the flow. I would expect hood closure interference to be a big problem.

Version 25. This is the correct length and width. I need to tweak a few things for looks, but pretty happy with it. 5.0 won't be on the final design, my thought is just GT50.

I really like the individual round tube look. Custom, but still reminiscent of the Lightning upper.
I forgot if you have mentioned it, but are the contact points between the individual runners just for support, or are there internal connections for maybe balancing pulses and stuff like that?

Version 25 - Very cool looking!

Would you use stock style Injectors and Rails?

What throttle body? Explorer, Mustang? How big of an opening on the Intake?

How does overall height compare to Explorer or 95 Cobra?

Interesting design.

Setup for stock explorer, but I will test with mustang as well.

What throttle body? Explorer, Mustang? How big of an opening on the Intake? It's exactly the same as the GT40 opening for the throttle body.

A mustang or explorer throttle body will work, but an explorer IAC will be required, since it's smaller.

How does overall height compare to Explorer or 95 Cobra?

Currently it's 1.3" lower, but getting the figured out now.

Interesting design.[/QUOTE]

It has internal velocity runners, which should help with everything and flow better.

I love the runner/ round tube look, classic but modern.
