It's getting too hot to keep the top on. And 90% of the rattles are gone!

Does anyone have a picture of a Wind Blue '74 (or other year) with Ranger stripes and the blue houndstooth interior? I been searching online and have yet to find one. I'm debating if I want to remove the extra pin stripes and return the seats and panels to the original style material.

I've started removing all of the extra stripes while trying to get back to just the original Ranger stripes.

Also added a much nicer steering wheel. This one is from Volante. It is 14" and leather wrapped. The hub adaptor is really nice. There is an adjustable sleeve to manage the gap between the column and the adaptor. The only modification required was to ground a wire to the hub body since mine only has the single post in the column. So much better than the crappy wheel that was on there before.

Welcome to CB. Very nice Bronco.
You mentioned the brake booster angled down. Before shimming it check your hood clearance. Some of the adapters put the master right under the main hood support so by design some build this in to the bracket to clear it. My bronco has a 1" body lift and I had to shim it down. That one has a JBG power brake adapter. My sons bronco came with a older duffs and it clears just fine.

Looks like most of my pics are not posting. The pics are hosted on my google account. It must be a link problem.

Thanks for the insight on the booster. I will check the hood clearance when I get home.

Let's try a photo link test and while sharing more pictures. Below is a before and after as I've removed the added pinstripes.

I've learned a big lesson on removing pinstripes from the original Ranger stripes. You must be gentle! Goof-off is too strong and will damage the orange trim. I've found that hand sanitizer works great to remove the left over pin stripe adhesive while protecting the underlying original stripes.

Looks great. Lot of work it looks like too.
I happened to kind of like your additional stripes myself. But I'm such a fan of the stock Ranger stripes (Ford guys nailed it!) I'm not complaining either.
Probably more a fan of the upper black strip above the side trim than I am of the ones around the fenders, but it's going to look great in it's stock livery.

Nice job on removal. What are you using? Heat? Chemical? Just fingernails and elbow grease?

The side panels have been easier since they have had less sun exposure. They have come up best using a little heat a razor to carefully pull up an edge and working slow. The adhesive left behind comes off with hand sanitizer and a little scrubbing with a microfiber cloth. Goof off is too strong and will ruin the underlying orange stripe.

The hood stripes are baked on pretty good. I’ve found putting a film of hand sanitizer over the pinstripe that I’m working off with a razor works well. But it is slow and careful work. The hand sanitizer again is used for left over adhesive clean up.

I was really torn what to do. I kinda liked what some PO did. However, the crappy mismatched touch up done to the upper rear quarters was masked to those stripes so I would need to remove them anyway. I'm happy with how it is turning out. Those dark blue stripes helped keep the accent stripes from fading too much.

Just going to keep ignoring those damn holes in the hood...

Happy Father’s Day!

I’ve been getting some garage time to work on fixing some of the paint and finish issues.

At some point the rear upper fenders and tailgate were resprayed but the color match was terrible. I thought I could do better knowing I wasn’t going to get a perfect match.

I used a razor to scrape the paint down to the primer layer.

Turn out there was a lot of good original paint left under that primer but still some bare metal to cover.

I used a 400 sanding block to get the primer layer off.

I laid down some fresh primer just to the area around bare metal. I ordered some Wind Blue from PaintScratch for the touch up. The sample that I sprayed out was a good match to the original finish that was preserved under the vinyl stripes but does contrast with the faded paint.

I did some ultra fine sanding to find the best place to blend and hide the transition along the area where the old vinyl stripes left some fading. I’m pretty happy with the results. I also painted the tire carrier while it was off with black wrinkle paint.
