I got the rear quarter assembly cut down and was about to tack it in, but before I did I stepped back to take a look at the whole rear section of the bronco. It didn't look right so I cut out the brace I had welded between the two rear posts. I installed the tail gate and was glad I did. The PS was square ,but when I cut the DS quarter assembly I made a mistake and was 3/8" out of square. I left the tailgate on and latched it to both sides and re-measured and recut the back side of the quarter assembly. I reinstalled it and tacked it into place. All is good, hopefully I can finish welding it in place this weekend. My camera is dead , I will post pics when I get it fully installed.

This was a good lesson to not get in a hurry and double check everything.

The fender looks funny because I am going to cut them for flares. I cut out enough to see where my tube rocker would weld up to the fender. I also chopped the rear corners off on the bottom. I think it will look better once I get the bumpers built. The last Bronco I had I did this and it turned out well.

I finally got some more work done on the floor. I made a new floor pan for the drivers side and got that installed. I also made a new side panel for the passenger rear side floor and welded it in. I have the four corner pieces for the rear cargo area made as well as the passenger side support piece for the striker post made but I haven't installed them yet. I will try to post some pics tonight, me and my camera had a disagreement the other day so I didn't get them done.

I got the inside rear quarters welded in where it meets the striker post. I decided to form them so that the bolts for the striker are inside the cab instead of in the gap where mud get to them.

I also got the four corners of the rear cargo made and installed along with the support pieces that attach to the striker post and inner fender. When I made the support pieces I cut extra out of the top to allow me to get to the bolt in the front for the hard top.

I made a new gas filler cover for the inner fender and modified it to allow the rear cage hoop some room to mount to the floor.

I ran into an issue on the front. I uncovered some awesome rust in the hidden channel underneath the front area below the windshield. I have a thread on the Tech side hoping someone has some advice on how to fix it. Here's some pic's.

I got some good suggestions on how to fix this and I have a few ideas of my own. I am going to whip this thing one way or the other today! I will post some pics if I get it done. In the mean time if anyone has a magic wand they want to lend me , let me know!

I finally got this mess fixed here are some pics. I couldn't make the piece I needed so I made a template and had a sheet metal place bend up some 16 gauge for me. I then modified it to fit and added the indentations. I will cap it off later, but at least now it is solid.

Yesterday I picked up some tubing for my cage. I am so happy to be working on something other than rust for a change. I got a late start so I only have one hoop bent for now. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and I can get some more done.

Here are some more pics of the progress. I have been pretty busy doing other things so I haven't been able to work on it as much as I want. I still have several bars to add as soon as I get them in I will post some more pics.

I finally got to do some work on my cage. I have almost everything done, except the rails to mount my seats and some bungs for seat belts. I have added everything I can think of for strength. I may add a couple of braces in the back to the rear floor bar and from the B pillar to the floor bar. Not sure yet. If anyone has any comments or suggestions I would love to hear them.

Thanks for looking!

I got some rims and tires today too. The tires aren't too good but the rims are aluminum 15x10. 100 bucks for the set I couldn't pass them up. It looks a lot better with big tires on it. I don't have a lift on it yet except the 1" BL so as soon as I get the cash that's next on my list.

I would also like to give a big thanks to xcntrk and rcmbronc for posting pics of their cage builds. I studied them a lot and took several of their ideas. Sweet cages guys and thanks for sharing with the rest of us!
