In late 2017 I noticed a new color option on the Demon/Hellcat called F8 Green(PFQ paint code) and I knew this was our color:

Unfortunately the new F8 Hellcat wasn't released yet so I hadn't seen it in person but I picked up this raw steel Bronco cutout from CB member sk1nw4lk3r and we decided to use it to test out the paint:

Picked up a Limco PFQ sample and had it sprayed. There is a lot of gold flake in it so it can appear very light or very dark depending on the light source:

Shannon found his classic paint book and they had the original F8 paint sample from the late 60s early 70s Plymouths/Dodges. It is a very close match but F8 has more gold flake in it:

After a couple of weeks with our mini Bronco, we decided there was too much gold flake in it. Shannon recommended we use Sherwin Williams and he can swap out the gold for a silver flake. Flipped the Bronco over and he was right!

We then moved the Bronco over to his buddies fab shop(Steve at Lone Wolf Speed & Customs) where the Bronco will get some major upgrades and customization. He is going to start on the undercarriage which will get a full tear down including removing both axles and all suspension components. After degreaser/power-washing, he will apply Spectrum Treatment by Second Skin to the tub as well as painting the frame, radius arms and axles. We will also be applying Second Skin inside the doors for that solid closing sound from a more modern vehicle:

Dropped off a ton of parts, passenger seat, console and Wildhorses seat box so that could be welded in:

Ordered these flush mounted pop-out gas caps. You push in and give it a quarter twist and the cap pops out. Then you unscrew the cap and insert the nozzle:

He came up with a great idea to mount the housing behind the fender so the caps are even more flush with the body. We will weld up the stock screw holes:

We decided to replace the 44 year old wiring harness. Ordered an American Autowire 510317 harness that replaces everything from the headlights to the taillights with a new fuse box and it adds under dash lighting:

Ordered a molded vinyl flooring kit in black. Since we will not be running a hard top I wanted more of a weatherproof interior that we can simply wash out and wipe clean:

The front NWMP 12 gallon steel tank has a serial plate with 1991 on it and it looks like that's the last time it came out:

Took both tanks to get pressure tested and hot tanked. Both were solid so we will be sticking with 2 tanks and 24 gallons. Put a couple fresh coats of paint on both and picked up new sending units and mounting hardware:

Also replaced all of the fuel rated rubber lines from the engine to the tanks to the necks so everything is new:

Looking forward to seeing the vinyl install. Might be nice for me too. Like bedliner, but you can put some insulation under there.

Thanks Gary! This has been the roughest month and a half of the build. I've been hands on in every aspect of the restoration so far but Steve likes to work alone and its killing me! His work is top notch quality though!

Finalized the dash layout. We ran into clearance issues with double DIN stereo and the cowl as well as keeping the defroster functioning but got it figured out:

Decided to do vertical stacks for the ignition, lights, wipers on the left and heater controls on the right. I hid a cigarette lighter under the bottom lip of the dash as well as the fuel tank selector switch. New fuse box will be mounted in the glove compartment:

Started tearing down the undercarriage so it can scrubbed, degreased and power washed. Then the Second Skin Spectrum coating can go on (https://www.secondskinaudio.com/sound-deadening/spectrum-liquid). It helps eliminate road noise, vibrations, and heat:

We did find another small but horrible patch repair. This was on the drivers side inner rocker panel. Completely cut out and replaced from start to finish(left to right):

Also found the VIN stamped on top of the passenger side frame rail. Numbers matching!!

He built a mounting frame for the center console and used nutserts in the tub. Don't worry, the tite seal window flashing "sound deadener" is coming out:

Bolted the gas tanks in to mock up the new flush mount fuel caps. We were able to modify one filler neck but had to build a brand new one for the other tank:

Looking great! Do you know how much of the Spectrum Second Skin spray on vibration dampner it took for the undercarriage? Also courious what the advantage of raptor lining over 2nd skin for the engine compartment is.

He did 5 coats on the wheel wells, undercarriage, inner fenders and partially up the firewall. 2 coats on the floor braces and other heavy pieces. Still had some left for the outer fenders and insides of the doors. Bought a 5 gallon jug

Both are durable water proof coatings but Second Skin is a vibration dampener and heat barrier with a rougher finish. Raptor Liner is a UV resistant coating with a cleaner finished look. I have a new firewall insulation kit as well as the Second Skin half way up the firewall.

The Bronco went back to Shannon to finish up the body work. We took out the radiator, shroud, master cylinder and booster since we're going to Raptor Liner the engine bay. My fenderwell was dented where the stock power steering goes which I guess is a common "mod" but we will be fixing that and installing hydroboost brakes:
