Thanks Ken

The reason I went this way is I already had the trans out of a 90 f-250 and knew it was a strong trans. I am not sure of the differences in the older M5 in the heavier duty truck compared to the newer f-150. The newer ones had the 4.2 V6 motor so I wasn't sure if they are as strong. The shift cover can come from a two wheel drive as well. That braided line was an3 and I found a way to adapt it to the throw out bearing and clutch master. If you want details, I'll have to dig in it a bit to see what exactly was used. Ken

Thanks Ken. That makes sense. If you have details on the braided line, that would be awesome, but no huge rush.
I was looking at the BC Broncos line but it is for a ZF so wasn't sure if it would fit the M5. I have another month before I probably get around to sorting out clutch so haven't researched much on whether zf and M5 connections are the same.

Should have some more progress pics up within the next 2 days.

Time for Paint

Dropped it off at body shop. I knew there was some repair required on the grill, tailgate, and hood. Sandblasting revealed a bit more work on the tailgate (entire bottom) and hood (entire front lip) needed work.

Here are the before pictures

Grill Letters:
Continuing with the black and silver theme, I cleaned out the old grill letters with q-tips and nail polish remover. Then carefully colored them in with black nail polish using a tooth pick to move it into the corners/borders. Finished it off by filling with clear epoxy resin.

Dash, Roll Bar, Topper

Here is the dash. I think it came out nice.
I took the instrument cluster out and painted the needles red, as well as the the outside ring black and the inside ring silver. Unfortunately the painter messed up and did the glove box door and ash tray in gloss and the rest of the dash in flat (I wanted flat for everything). It is hard to tell but I know it and it bugs me a bit.

I did the POR treatment on the roll bar

Topper:
While it was out getting painted I took the glass in to get tinted. Wish I would have been smart enough to get the door window tinted at the same time. Installed the windows and liftgate back in once it returned.

Thanks Crush. I ended up buying/using a TMR support kit.
https://www.tmrcustoms.com/ca/transfer-case-support-kit-np205

I put this off the back output with square tubing running between the 2 frame rails to reduce the hanging weight. I will try and get some pictures of the finished product. Let me know if you think it is sufficient or should I also do something on the drivers side support. Always looking for opinions of others who have a similar setup.

I did what Crush had suggested and welded a bolt to my frame and used some leftover body bushings to cushion it. That kit looks like a really good way to do it! Great looking build and keep the pics coming! Cheers, B2

You are always welcome to come and check out the build. Tried to send you a PM with my phone number, but it wouldn't let me. Just let me know when you are down this way and I am sure we can arrange something (I am just outside of Airdrie). Would love to see your rides as well.

I am hoping to have it running by spring and get out for some cruising.

Hey B2, I was looking at doing the same thing when I first entertained the 205 based on threads on here. I even made the side bracket out of some angle iron, painted it and actually have it bolted onto the 205, but didn't do the bolt and bushing yet.
When I was test fitting it, I became paranoid about the downward force on the M5 flange. I stumbled upon the TMR support and it might be overkill, but it gave me some extra piece of mind. I am hoping it works but may end up finishing off the side support if it gives me any trouble.
Thanks for checking out the thread.

We be Rollin

Just got the body lifted on the frame 2 weeks ago (1" body lift).
This is currently how it sits as of today. Installed Ididit stearing column and pedal assembly, and rough fitted seat. Any future pictures will truly be progress.
