I just picked up one of these combo tanks and am curious to how you guys are mounting them? If I mount it directly to the driver side inner fender skirt, I can't get the caps off. I'm assuming I'll need to have some sort of bracket built that mounts to the skirt, then mount the tank to that bracket so I can get it away from the fender (looks like I need to come out about 4"?

I did a search, but didn't see any examples of what people have done to mount these. Any ideas/pics would be appreciated.

i was going to use threaded rod connector nuts. bolt from the outside to hold them in place, and then bolts from the inside to hold the tank. i've only mocked this up by holding in my hand, so not really sure it that will work. fall back was to bend some 1" thin flat stock into a bracket and drill hold with nuts welded to the back if i need more backspacing.

Wow! You should manf. those!! I'd buy one in a sec! Thanks for the pics! Great work!

I will send this one to you if you want it. I removed all my sheetmetal so I don't have a place to mount it now.

I will be sending this one to Scott. I can make a few more if people are interested. They are not difficult to make, but it takes time and time is not on my side right now.

I want to buy one too! No grinding or paint necessary.

I'm ashamed of how my tank (just like yours) is mounted...

Sounds good guys. I will make a few extra and get back to everyone in this thread when they are done.

Not to take away from your custom bracket Jaromy, (which is awesome!) but mine was bolted flush to the inner fender and both caps were accessible.
