1971 Ford Bronco
Lots of newparts and modifications.

Body..
***No RUST ,its been cut out and replaced with new metal.
I had it painted gray but it ended up not being the color I liked so I had it sprayed with flex blue dip. *
***Brand new gorilla fender flares from Wild Horses 4x4
***The front & rear *fenders are bobbed on the bottoms.
****Floors on inside have bed liner .
****Rock Ski Sliders w/Nerfs, Steel, 1/4" Thick From Tom's Bronco Parts .
***Front Pre-Runner Winch Bumper w/High Position Winch Mounting From Tom's , Has 2 Kc lights mounted and a brand new 9,000Lb winch.
***Rear custom bumper with built in receiver hitch.

**Best top Soft top also have a bikini top.

*Rock lights mounted on the frame.

***High output halogen head lights

Motor.
***Fuel injected 5.0 with lots of power .it motivates the bronco well .It was out of a 90's thunderbird. Had around 80,000 miles when installed .
***It has MDS ignition, Ford Racing Plug Wires .Runs great lots of power
***Ford Motorsports Headers *****************
***Flow-master exhaust
****K&N Filter and intake tube.

Trans..
****AOD Automatic Overdrive Trans with a B&M Shifter
****External trans Cooler with Electric fan also has a temp gauge inside the cab.
****AOD adapter from BC Broncos
****Twin Stick Dana 20 Transfercase

Axles...
***Full width axles out of a 1978 Bronco , high pinion Dana 44 and 9inch.
***Disc brakes front and back.
***5.13 gears, welded front and back.

***The 44 has the flat top knuckles off a 3/4 ton truck but made to work with the 1/2 ton brakes so you can still run the 15" wheel.
***Also the tie rod is 2" higher then the stock knuckles.

**Has custom coil mounts to bring the coil springs in so they are strait up and down..axles shafts are stock as far as I know but do have the solid spicer joints.

Suspension.
***Custom made extended radius arms . ***Wild horses Coil-springs up front probably 3" or 4'' over stock
***Custom built lower spring mount on the axle adds a bit of lift also
***Not sure of the brand of leaf springs on the back but match lift on the front no blocks.
***Rancho RS 9000 5 way adjustable shocks
***Body lift also 2-3
It sits 10 1/2 inches taller than my stock one measured at the headlights.

Interior..
***Custom built 6 point cage, not a kit. It is also tied to the frame for extra strength
***Custom high-back buckets up front with 5 point harnesses *****************
***Matching bench in the rear
with lap belts.
***All seats and belts are mounted to the Roll cage
***Dash has all the factory switches/knobs also has a bank of illuminated toggle switches that can be used for additional accessories.
***CB with external antenna
***Pioneer 2 way speakers mounted in the rear panels .
**Red Top Optima *Battery mounted in the rear with cut of switch ,more switches and a aux plug in the back also.

***Polished Tilt Steering Column and custom steering wheel from Toms Bronco Parts.
***Power steering via F150 box and extra large cooler

Brakes.
***4 wheel disc brakes with a brand new heavy duty corvette Master Cylinder

Tires.
Brand new tires & wheels less than 300 miles just now wore the stickers off

Nitto Terra Grappler LT315/75R16 = 35x12.50 R16

Wheels.
SERIES 7089 - FLAT BLACK ALLOY WHEELS
7089-6885
16x8 wheel size5x5-1/2 bolt pattern-0mm offset4.5" backspacing *The offset on these wheel put tire part way back under the flares.
Load lbs. 2200
Xtreme Alloys Powder-coated Black

**I had 37'' tires on it before I swapped axles, they cleared fine but the 15'' wheels would not clear the rear calipers.

**The bad. Its loud and fast .
It does leak a little oil from the valve covers probably needs new gaskets. Trans pan leaks a little from where the temp sensor is screwed in . It could use some weather stripping around the doors for winter time driving.

off-road only?

Does the welded diffs mean off-road only? I would guess that might make for interesting driving on pavement :)

diff

its not bad the tires chirp a little bit in a tight turn, other than that it has really good street manners . it tracks straight I can take my hand off the wheel at 70 and not worry about it jumping lanes.

Sounds good. This bronco will make a great rig for someone, that's for sure.

It sounds like you built a bad ass bronco. That one is tempting, but sounds a little too hardcore for what I'm wanting. Just curious, how does it do on fuel with the AOD? I know it's built for power, but with the EFI and the AOD, it sounds like it would be about the same or better than a carbureted 351 with a C4.
Also, how come the welded diffs? Sounds like you put a good amount of cash out for this rig. Why not air lockers. It sounds like a beast for off-roading!

Just curious

Honestly I've never kept track of the fuel mileage , I haven't driven
It much on the street since I finished it .
I don't have a hard top for it , bit I can pull it into my shop .
I think it's a standard height door I'll measure to make sure .
