I've been working on building an aluminum mount for the Explorer 4.0 radiator. I bought a chunk of 3/8"x5"x5" aluminum angle and cut out everything that didn't look a lower radiator mount lol.
It'll bolt to the lower core support. At the moment it's a single piece, but I may cut out the center section and only each end.

I'll machine the top mount out of billet aluminum later.

I finished my aluminum radiator mounts and now working on the transmission cooling lines. I'm going to run steel tubing from the 'hot' side of transmission the 4.0 Explorer radiator, then out to an air cooler then return to the 'cold' side of the transmission.
I used my neighbor's Bridgeport mill to fabricate the billet radiator mounts, they turned out good. Because of body lift I lifted them to try to use the Explorer shroud, but i'll likely end up building one from aluminum.
I painted the lower radiator mounts but left the top mounts shiny for now. I may have to mill them some more to clear the hood:eek: I may powder coat them or just paint the top to match.
Now to figure out how to connect the 3/8" double flare tubing to the 4.0 Explorer radiator...

I got everything buckled up with fluids in it & ran the 5.0 engine last night. I've got to figure out a permanent MAF and air filter solution. My Factory MAF has a rectangular flange to the filter box, which will get replaced with something aftermarket.
But I don't have any ideas yet

Gonna see you this week in Hot Springs sir?

No Dave, I wanted to but I've got a STOL Fly In competition in Hondo Texas in two weeks, and couldn't afford to take that much time off so close together.
And I want to finish this project and try to bring it next year.

yesterday I built the MAF air inlet tube. I ordered all the parts last week from Summit. I used the original Explorer MAF sensor. I fabricated the pedestal mounts from some aluminum angle, then TIG welded a radius'd so it'd clamp everything down using the hose clamps. I couldn't find a 3" U bend tube with any less radius but it worked, just barely

I got the Vintage Air mounted and most of the hoses ran. It's going to be a big job to wire the 5.0 harness to the Bronco dash harness, then wire the Vintage Air into all that.
My plan is to wire the EFI guy 5.0 harness to the dash and get the Bronco dash wiring all working, then make the final Vintage Air wire connections.
It's getting complicated.
The engine computer is mounted directly above the Vintage Air unit, and fits perfectly.

I'm running the EFI wires through a Painless bulkhead fitting. I put it all together and ran it before I install in the firewall.

Dadgum boy, we may give you the electrical guru award this year!!! Great work!!;D;D;D

Thanks! I'm just plugging along, EFIGuy Garry has been giving me advice as needed. I've got some new dash warning lights and overdrive on/off switch ordered from this place in Australia. https://billetautomotivebuttons.com

And I've got a Viper remote start system ordered also. If I can make all this work it'll be amazing, but I think I can I think I can.
