I recently joined the Classic Broncos online community after lurking for several years and quickly started hearing about Super Celebration. I'm in SC so the drive wouldn't be too bad but I'm curious if I'm too late for registration/finding a place to stay etc. I've tried to search threads for this information but not finding what I need. For the veterans, is it too late to try and plan to go to this year's Super Celebration? Can anyone help with the things I should do before hand if I want to go and drive my Bronco? Thanks in advance for any help!

There are plenty of hotels, AirBnB, and Cabins available in the close proximity.

You'll be fine. And you'll love it.

In 2014 we registered far too late and couldn't get hotels really close by. So we had to get a cabin about 30 minutes away.

We thought this was a bad thing at first but quickly realized that,
The trip to Townsend each morning was a little adventure of its own, lol.
we got to see incredible scenery,
we got to go buy all kinds of neat stores that we stopped at,
we found a horse riding place that we wouldn't have seen otherwise,
we found a roller coaster on the side of the mountain that we wouldn't have seen otherwise, etc....

And the cabin was perfect. Plenty of room for the three of us.
I believe the cabin rental service we liked the best was in '14 or '15. I think it is called Knights Inn which sounds like a Hotel chain lol, but they rent cabins.

We will never do the hotel thing after the cabin experience. Some hotels "are" awesome but the cabins are the way to go.

Hell we may stay even further away next time, lol.

I stay 20 miles up the road at Maryville. They have all the chain hotels, and I get free rooms at Holiday Inn, so I have a big incentive to stay there. I know a lot of people like the cabins and sightseeing, but we make another trip for that. I pretty much stay on site looking at Broncos and visiting with friends from morning till dark.

Super Celebration is the best Bronco show and you will not be disappointed. I live in down toward Greenwood, SC and the 4+ hour drive is worth it!!

You will still be able to find a place to stay, maybe not one of the few hotels in Townsend, but there are several other options!

Hope to see you there... :)

Pretty cool to hear about how far people come for this thing. Sounds like I've gotta get the wife on board for a weekend in TN!

I agree. We stay at a Cabin about 15-20 mins away from Townsend. Every morning the sights are incredible, its a nice comfortable drive, and we'd stop at the little coffee shop next to the car wash. It really made it far more enjoyable than waking up at the Talley Ho and walking over to the field where my truck remained overnight.

Getting me all pumped up for SC!

Getting excited here also. Will be my first time going to SC. I've got a room booked at Docks Motel, anyone on here stayed there before?

Looking forward to meeting more folks in the Bronco Community and drooling over some of these awesome rides. Me and a buddy will be coming in from Arkansas pulling my 71. He's got a 68, trying to talk him into bringing it also. I've got a few months left to work on him.

Last year was our first trip. One day last year, my son walked to our cabin and back from the event field. It was like a quarter of a mile. We had a blast and sold a ton of parts that I had been walking around in the floor of my shop for two years. A friend who could not make the trip, asked if it was good enough to go back for the next one. I told him, I made reservations before I left. IIRC 525 registered Broncos.

Hey Bulldog, I see you live in FM. I live in FM too and we'll be headed up that Friday about 4am. I got my grand-paws Bronco back in April and I've been working pretty steady to get ready for the drive. This will be our first time too and we'll be staying through the weekend. Did you happen to have a State Trooper pull beside you a while back and say nice Bronco? if that was you, then I was the Trooper.

Maddog, yep that was me and I remember you. That's awesome! So you're not going to trailer yours, you're going to drive it? I think I'm going to drive and have my wife or a buddy follow behind me. I don't like driving much above 55-60 MPH in it but I think a lot of that drive is winding through the mountains from where we'd come from so it's not like we'd be going fast anyway. What do you have left to do to feel good about a trip of that length?
