Tom, (or someone else) can you tell me what this means? %)

Both front and rear ends are not limited slip or have lockers. When off road if a tire would loose traction, limited slip or a locker would transfer power to the other tire. In a open diff this does not happen. However with a open diff the Bronco will turn nicer on the street and not beat up the tires as bad.
Since this Bronco is not a wheeler I put in open diffs.

Hope this helps. Tom

It has been awhile so here is a update. I went by the body shop and shot some pictures. The under side of the hood and inside of the doors have been shot.

The inside of the body has also been shot. While it was in the air I got a shot of the under side and the engine bay. I can tell you the underside will look as good as the outside.

With the body off I thought it was a great time to get the muffler work done. I sent the Bronco to Midas in Santa Clarita Ca. after talking to Julian (The Manager) he told me about the 20 years experience he has. He also said he would be the one working on it and I was welcome to watch and give my input. I was sold.

Here it is on the truck on its way to the shop. Canyon Towing in Canyon Country Ca. took very good care on the job.

Once at the shop Julian got right to work.

Here is where the drivers side header ties in and the pipe goes under the bell housing.

The passenger side header and where the two pipes join together.

I went with a round Magnaflow so it would not be too big or loud.

The tailpipe exits in the stock location.

Well there you go, we are now current. I will post more pictures as I move along.

Again thanks for looking.

Just read through this whole thread and, wow, very inspiring. Wish I had the knowledge and resources to do something similar... Will keep my eye on this, can't wait to see finished product.

BTW, can you provide more details on the engine? Did you go with a stroker kit after boring it? Why'd you choose carb over EFI (just curious)?

Kudos!

The engine still has the stock stroke. The bore is .040 over, balanced, the heads have SBC screw in studs and the compression is 9.5 to 1. I wanted a good stock rebuild. This Bronco will not tow, race or even go off road. The owner Tony just wanted a over the top street Bronco, so this is what I am building.

I went with a carb for simplicity and kind of old school. It is only 500 cfm so the primary's are small. The throttle response should be good. If it was going to go off road I would have done a EFI set up.

Saturday it is going to the body shop and have the body, cage and top installed. Check back for pictures.

Thanks for looking.

It might just be the angle the pic was taken at but will the driver side exhaust interfere with the clutch rod?

The Bronco is still at the body shop.

My son took some pictures and sent them to me, however I deleted them by mistake. When he sends them to me again I will post.

I can say the body and paint look unreal.

Check back soon.

Thanks...
Tom

I went by the body shop today and here are some new pictures.
The tub has been installed on the frame, it looks great.

The engine sure stands out with the blue color.

Here is a shot of the inside, it is just as clean.

attachment.php

The underside looks great also. To cut down on rust the exhaust system was ceramic coated.

Sorry the pictures are not the best. Where the Bronco is parked in the shop the lighting is off.

Check back soon, I will keep you posted.

Thanks...
Tom
