I thought I would start a thread to document my build. I picked up a 1966 Wagon a few months back. I actually traded the guy 3 guns for the bronco. I live in South Louisiana near Baton Rouge, and the Bronco was in Texas. Included with the Bronco was an extra Dana 44 w/disc, an extra 9" rear end, a set of beatiful doors, an extra 3 speed and dana 20. These first pics are having it loaded and ready to head south.

The reason for the "Flying Tiger" name for my truck. I am a huge LSU fan and also a lover of WWII fighter planes. Since the "Flying Tigers" were founded by a Louisiana Boy, the name just made sense. Here are my plans. Frame off. 302 Rebuild with nothing to radical. NV3550. 4 Wheel disc. P/S, A/C. The "Flying Tiger" will be painted in an LSU Theme. But I will be using the retro LSU colors which are more of an Antique White and Original EB Chrome Yellow and some purple accent. This will be a slow build for me on account of time and of course funds. My wife told me this would not be done in our garage, so I actually found a guy who sells the large metal storage containers off a lot with an old metal building in the back. The building has no power or water. In exchange for the use of the building, I cut the grass. I am going to rewire the breaker to run the lights off my generator. Well that is my start. I am sure I will be chatting and hopefully meeting many of you on here soon.

Looks great and sounds like an awesome plan! I'll go ahead and ask, is the first three characters of the VIN U15?

Yes, it is a U15NL. I actually ran across this EB last week traveling out of town for work. It is an early 66. Right tailgate and forward rear shocks. Could be a U13. I might be picking it up this week. I was in a hurry taking the pictures because I did not want to get shot. I think it has a PTO on the front. I will more than likely just be picking it up to sell it.

I saw your other thread, and noticed a Roadster mirror mount on the one you found. That along with the homemade top and doors, I'd say it's probably a U13.

If it is a U13, think it has much value? Things I know, Stock 6 cyl, orig back seat, 66 tailgate, might have a PTO winch.

Some value, yes. Could be worth a lot if it turns out to be a very early production.

It doesn't look to be completely rusted out. It may be well worth restoring.

Nice score & interesting theme, be good to see it done.

Can't believe the Bama boys haven't told you to paint an LSU-colored zero on it yet

Gave a Colt model 1911 45cal and a couple of 22 cal rifles.

I did really good. This 66 has virtually no rust. The Dana 44 was so rusted it was complete junk.
