Looking for experiences with Dennis Carpenter tubs

I've got a complete tub assembly from Dennis Carpenter, but both my builder and a very experienced custom body guy feel that the amount of work that will be necessary to get the tub straight is unacceptable. I acknowledge that a bit of work will be necessary to fix any aftermarket tub ($2K worth?), but the work necessary here will be substantial ($5-10K).

So far Dennis Carpenter has indicated their amenability to make things right but I'm not sure what that looks like yet. Either reimburse for work or return the tub.

As I proceed to try and come to some acceptable arrangement with DC, I thought I'd check the board here to see what other peoples' experiences with DC tubs may have been. Any comments and anecdotes are welcome and appreciated. Thanks!!!

Post a few pictures! I just built a tub recently, I think under the best circumstances you will have considerable body work.

I would like to see photos too. I hear a lot of stories like this and it's hard to really tell if there is a problem, or of the expectations are out of line. I suspect a lot of these old horses were never the tightest gaps and aligned body panels even when new. So if someone expects a new tub to line up like a show car it is probably unrealistic. Just my peanut gallery 2 cents...

I'm also definitely interested in finding out why there is so much body work needed, so pics would be great. I am considering a Carpenter tub myself as I've read some opinions that people feel that product is better than the Dynacorn option.

Is it really just panel alignment or are there dents and/or other imperfections?
