Back at it tonight...last modification to make the pump fit on the '98 Exploder sending unit assbly. I cut the mounting brkt off appr 2" from the base, then I found that nice rust-colored pc of 16ga angle and formed it to fit in a position so that it could be welded onto the original remaining bracket and where it needed to be so the pump would be directly below the pressure line exiting the tank. Couple hours of dinking around but I had less than 1/8" clearance btw the baffle in the tank and the new pump mounting location on the fuel tank sending unit assbly bracket. Make sure you use submersible rated hose if it's in the tank...

It fits... few mods on the Exploder fuel tank sender/mounting unit. I used a frame mount Walbro 255lph pump, and now I need to see if my fuel cell pickups will perform as needed...

I should have fired it up last Sat night but I was drilling in the Exploder S/S fuel mounting unit and the bit caught twisting the gasket sealing surface...crap!!

Well it won't seal well if it's not flat...should have used my uni-bit but I thought I could get away with a regular bit...guess not...another few days of delay...

Headed to Moab whether it's running or not!! John will hold the fort down... I'll send some Moab pics!

Last leak test..after more welding on the tank and on the fuel sender brkt I wanted to make sure I didn't have any more leaks...checked it with gas this time to make sure it won't weep.

Buddy comment: So now you can drive it upside down without the tank leaking.

My response: Done the upside down thing once...don't really want to go there again!!

Well, the list keeps growing that's why it's not running yet... each additional thing to do before I can start it is only an hour or two or three to fix... here's hoping the list doesn't grow any longer today!!!

That's what i was hoping Eric....Jon said ive got to do this one frame/post at a time...

Question for you....should I delete all the " chatter and comments" out...??

This is getting long and boring as a thread that is old news and since there's no real interaction between any readers....

Thanks!!

I can't imagine the time invested if I was trying to find all the original pics!!! Take flipping days!!

For me, I am usually trying to capture my thought process, part numbers, and methods in case I need to reference it again. Or, in the event that someone wants to duplicate it. I'd leave the chatter out if it meant a significant time savings.
