I wondered about the stripe too. Likely a repaint. ?:?

I has been repainted and I sure the stripe was replaced. The repaint is not quite the original color but the dash is original.

He's talking about the winch that was on it in the Florida pic.

If you look close it's not a winch. I guess you could put one there. It's what appears to me to be a tow bar. The receiver hitch below the front bumper is still on the vehicle.

It is an old metal electrical box cover covering up a hole the PO had cut. Not sure what it was for but there were lights, speakers, switches, extra cigarette lighters, more speakers, more lights all over it. Plus dual batteries that were wired wrong to run it all. I have pulled a pile of wire and a box full of "accessories" out of this thing.

Here is the green '76 Explorer in Tennessee. It will be a part of our corral soon.

Could very easily have been for an old CB whip antenna mount. The big spring thingies with the round plastic base would need a hole probably about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter maybe?

Sometimes you'd see dual antennas on the side of the hard tops.
Sounds like your Bronco's PO was just the kind of guy to have communications of some kind all mounted up and ready to talk.

Paul, your guess is as good as mine but you are probably right.
