Ready to pull the trigger on a colored pad, seems Bronco Hut is the only source, y/n? Talked with Mellissa several times, wanting to see the "Ginger" and "Light Saddle" pads. She sent me a pic of the "Ginger" but not the "Light Saddle". Can some one here help me out? Is Bronco Hut the only source? Btw, this is the interior color. Oh, and a Rampage "Spice" soft top. Oh, and an idea of the body colors. Thanks. Howard in beautiful west Michigan

Is Hawk Enterprises still in business? Back in the day, they were the colored dash people.

Google Just Dashes in Van Nuys CA. I had my dash recovered there about 20 years ago. They did everything including door panels, rear seat arm rests and lots of stuff for other vehicles. They replace the foam and replace the vinyl so it looks like factory. I am guessing they vac-u-form the vinyl over the arm rests and dash after they rebuild the foam underneath.

The dash was $250 and the rear seat arm rests were $50 each.

Thanks MarsChariot (Great name, btw), 72Sport and Todd. Fussed a little bit with it today, trying to get a better idea. Wet-sanded the hood and laid a Rampage "Spice" and a Ford Freestyle color sample on the hood to get an idea. Unless I can find a good match for the "Spice", I might go with "Parchment" and paint it match "Spice".

Howard, You can have an upholstery shop wrap that dash in any color you want. I am having mine done that way. It will have a seam where the pad necks down as they don't have a way to vacuum fit it. They had one there to look at and didn't look to bad. Ken

Thanks Ken, that's good input! I don't think I can go that route though, because the metal portion is eroded enough that I just don't want to do a "maybe it will last." I think I'll contact the "Just Dashes" folk this week.

I have a Ginger dash from Bronco Hut. It is a little lighter than original but looks good and it is very good quality and fit perfect. Look at my photo gallery, theres a pic in there with it. Buy it from Melissa.

Well, I guess "Ginger" it is. Melissa said she had one in stock, so should be here next week, I hope!

Bringing an old thread back to life. I have a 77 Ranger with the Blue Interior package as pictured earlier in this thread. My original Blue dash pad is trashed, can’t find a replacement in Blue, any idea if anyone makes them? Can I paint a black one blue to match? Same issue with my rear seat armrests, can I paint them? Any idea on the correct color match?
TIA,
SeaVee

It sounds like, from all reports of the SEM spray on vinyl dye products, that they work really well.
The trick of course is to find a color that matches close enough, or that you like enough to do it.
I’m pretty sure nobody reproduces a color matched dash panel. If they did, they’d probably be about $2000 each, considering how few were actually out there to begin with.

I am very happy with the SEM spray vinyl dye, it worked very nicely for me.

My blue 76 bronco has a black dash cap installed by the original owner about 30 years ago didn’t want to take it off soI decided to try to match the med blue met int vinyl L3788 so I did some research and found a duplicate color it wasn’t blue more of a gray and I took it off. Anybody have a blue dye they like that matches the upholstery vinyl

Take the back cover off one of your front seats and find a small piece of the blue vinyl hidden be hide the cover you took off and cut a small piece and take it to your local automotive paint supplier that sells the SEM products, and they should be able to match that blue vinyl to their dye in a rattle spray can. Take a Scotch-gard pad and ruff up the vinyl dash pad really good and take some rubbing alcohol and clean the dash pad really good to clean it up. Then let it dry for a little while. Take the SEM dye and spray three lite coats over your dash pad till you are happy with what it looks like. In the first picture, you will see the small piece of the vinyl that I cut off my seat setting on the newly dyed armrest that I dyed. I think it matches very nicely. I also dyed a armrest cup holder/cooler for my Bronco with this SEM dye. This is all on what I did to get mine done. Hope this helps you out with the dying process.

Are those "dash covers" I see advertised any good? Not near as expensive as the real dashes. Has anyone used them?
