EFI BC Broncos Fuel Tank Venting Question

I would think something like that could work. I'm still baffled as to why you're getting liquid out of the vent though. Is it possible that you're venting at the return port instead of the vent?
I don't even know if that's possible, or if there is a difference really. But I think the vent is open only at the top, while the return has a tube that extends down into the fuel. Once you are getting near full, you'd have fuel potentially getting pushed up into the tube and out the port.
Ok, nevermind... I realized the tank vent is the rearmost port, well away from the return line and pickup lines, which use AN fittings.

Must be something literally deflecting the incoming rush of fuel into that port and back up into the system. Strange.
Here again though, if you mount your canister up high enough, even liquid getting into the tube at the tank should not be able to flow all the way forward and up into the canister.
Then again, on a long steep downhill climb with a full tank...

Good luck.

Very slick looking. And inexpensive too.
Have you thought of where you will mount it yet?

Let us know how it works out.

I am going to try to tuck it up above the fuel filler but that will probably change once I get my hands on the unit. I will post pics once it is installed.

I just got around to installing this. I installed the catch can in between the 1/4 panel and the inner tub wall, just behind the rear tank filler. It was tight but it does fit. The tank vent is plumbed to the inlet on the catch can. I changed the fitting on the bottom of the can to an 90 degree fitting which I plumbed to a t fitting I installed on the fill vent.

I ordered the roll over valve from the DMC web site when I receive it I will make bracket to mount it to the frame on the driver side. In the mean time I am working on making a bracket to mount a mustang charcoal canister on the firewall on the driver side.

This project has been more work than expected but hopefully it will keep fuel from spilling out on fill up or fumes filling up the cab.

Nice bracket. How did you get that tight bend-over at the top?
Very carefully?;D

And what are you going to do with the 3/8 hose out of the canister? Was thinking that since you have to make it curve around that close to the hood, this would be a perfect place for some 3/8" steel tubing bent to a 90. Or at least close to a 90, to make that turn. You could then run soft hose between the canister and the tubing, then run the tubing as far as you want over towards the engine, where rubber would complete the journey.
You may already have it all dialed in. Just thought that might help. I've done that with several builds, for PCV valve hose routing, as well as brake vacuum booster hose routing. All those convoluted bends look super clean with metal line.

Coming along nicely.

I got the bracket finished for the roll over valve. I am going to demo out the rest of the stock system and clean up the tubing and reuse what I can.

I removed all the old tubing and tried my hand at bending some of it, cleaned it, up painted and installed it in the engine bay. I think it turned out ok.

Looks great!
Never seen one pull the fumes out from one of the smaller ports, but I assume it still works the same way as any other port?

What kind of tubing is that? Steel or aluminum with some kind of coating on it already, or maybe you painted it? Either way, looks cool.
Did you mention it before in this thread? Maybe I missed it.

It is plumbed accourding to the mustang scematic wich has been posted on here before which shows the small port as the inlet and the large port as the outlet. The tubing is steel tubing from the original evap system which I removed when I took out the original canister. I bent it, sanded it and painted it with some engine paint I had laying around.

Now I have to figure the connection to the intake, I will post pictures when I figure it out.
