Not the best C4. Case fill, small bell, small servos.
It can be adapted. It can be upgraded, but not to the point of what a Bronco C4 would be. The case is what bothers me the most. All the gear reduction that makes that wonderful torque is channeled back through the transmission case and into the block. Add a transfer case and now you have leverage behind the transmission. And extra torque that the transmission case must be able to handle. There is a reason that Ford went ahead and put the better case in from the factory.
So it comes down to how will this be used? Just a cruiser, no hard wheeling? That trans will be just fine. A rebuild with the right output shaft and tail housing and the normal internal upgrades and it will be just fine.
But if you are going to be putting some good power through it, hammering on it, I would keep looking for a better core.
