Linex door jambs?

Had tub blasted and door jambs are clean, no rust.

I'm debating having door jambs linexed, then running door inserts.

Just curious why most people prefer paint in door jambs?

Seems like paint in this area leads to chips/scratches. I would think linex is more durable and preferred.

Looking for advice why most say paint vs linex...thanks!

I did linex in the jambs of my trail rig. Just make sure to mask an area for your hinges and striker plate if you decide to run doors...

I Line-X'd the threshold but painted the rest. Check for clearance if you plan to ever put doors on, it can add quite a bit of thickness in places. I had my tailgate done and had to grind off almost all of it where it contacts the seal.

Thanks good points.

I will run door inserts and don't plan on doors but that doesn't mean someone else won't want doors in the future.

I would not put it on up the sides, they do not need the protection.
