Irma

What a difference a day can make. Jupiter looks to skate by on this one with a manageable tidal surge predicted and outer cone winds that we should weather with minimum damage. Marco Island, Naples & Fort Meyer will be another story. Irma stands to refuel from the warm Gulf as it is moving slowly as it leaves Cuba. It certainly could reach a Cat 5 when it comes ashore in SW Fla. The total surge will be devasting.

Hope everyone is safe, a search and rescue team from here left a couple days ago and they just got back from Houston, barely enuff time to catch their breathe, thoughts and prayers for everyone there, man hurricane season sucks. :-[

no kidding, one of my wife's friends husband works for FEMA. he didn't even get to come home from TX then onto FL.
thoughts and prayers continue for everyone down there

Good luck FL boys. Bradenton now seems like a bad place to be in the next few days. We are locked down and ready...was feeling decent yesterday but now it's looking rough. Prayers wanted!

You got it, prayers and wishes that it keeps moving away and puts you out of the worst of it, or weakens to minimize the impact. May you, your family and all of the west coast stay safe.

that was before I chained it to that pole .... its my neighbors he left me the key to his house and party boat !

Every time I wake up this damn storm looks worse. My daughter and future son in law got called in for Mandatory duty. She reported to the hospital (nurse) at 6 last night and he's on water patrol (fireman) at 6 this morning. They told them both to plan on being there a while. Glad I boarded up yesterday.

Be safe brother, my dad is in Homosassa, his house is high but he is still planning on going to a Hotel on the highway. The last time a big storm pushed in from the Gulf his street gets 3-5 feet of water.
