I’ve always wondered what the deal was with Conway Twitties Bronco. In the pics below...one is brown/cream color themed and the other is blue. Blue one has a winch bumper, luggage rack, Visor over top of outside windshield, etc. Were these two different Broncos or was there a filter on the camera making it appear a different color? Maybe the pics faded? What is the real color of the Twitty Bird? Better yet........where does the Twitty Bird reside these days? Let me know because I can’t sleep at night:).lol

Thanks,
Andy

They were two different Broncos. I got in a bidding war at the auction 15 years ago, and was second highest bidder at 9300, it sold for 9400. I have a few dozen pictures of it when I previewed it a week before the auction. The chrome 8274 and bumper was a birthday present from Loretta Lynn to Conway.

I'll find the pictures and post them. Anyone have a floppy disc player? I think the pics are on a floppy. Save the jokes, unless they are really funny!!!!

Hard to keep a secret, sounds like%)

These were taken before the auction July 2001.Lots of little custom touches. Chrome Door strap hardware, chrome tailgate handle, chrome spare tire carrier. Custom Blue interior, '77 steering wheel, Ranger carpet, and the infamous 70's sunroof. A/C, sunvisor, roof rack.

Maybe one day we will cross paths.

Are we sure they were two different Broncos? Both are uncut Sports with single tank, beltline trim, and rocker molding. I would think he just had it repainted but could be wrong. Regardless, the blue one looks to be a '75. Correct?

Chris, is that Joe in the pic? Looks like his '77 in the background too.

Twitty City had a pretty awesome Christmas lights display this time of year back in the day. I don't remember seeing the broncos, but I wouldn't doubt it if they were incorporated in the display at some point.

Yes Jimmy, the Blue one is a '75, and that is Joe circa 2001! From what I remember being told from the auctioneer it started life as a Blue Sport and Conway Twitty had his custom guy do all the work. The LL story of the chromed winch and bumper was shared by him also.
At the time, it was the nicest, most original Bronco I had seen. We drove it around the parking lot, and it felt like driving a new Bronco!
