I've got a feeling this project/idea will prove your Luddite self-incrimination a falsehood.

Signed, Rooting for y'as in Hillsboro!

Have a local guy who did this on a street rod style half cab. He made all the stock parts work, just rolled everything to the inside. It is tubed out, has Mustang II front end, custom roll pans on both ends, and a twin four barrel tunnel ram 351.

Thought I'd spend some time makin' sure it'd maybe work, per AZ73bronco's sound counsel. Started by patching some holes in before I cut a hole out. Good 'nuff for now, next put together some pieces and parts........

Now for some more delicate-er finigallin'.......... Yuppers, methinks that'll do. Operation test fit was a success, progress made, questions answered and only one small Band-Aid needed. Fine tuning adjustments will have to be made, but that's why tomorrow was invented.

Managed to get some 1/4-20 nuts secured inside the inside to fasten the handle. Had to recess them a smidgen to compensate for the "dimples" on the backside of the handle bracket. Not always easy, handlin' those dimples on the backside.

A Q for those in the know - Are the three holes at the tailgate top in pick 3 of post 24 necessary?

Can't remember, but I think the two farther to the right and closer together are for the interlock tab. Only needed for hard tops, it keeps the tailgate from opening when the liftgate is in the down position.

I forget what the others are for.

AZ73, I didn't mean to make you think that that beautiful jewel was mine, although I may wish that it were. The tail gate pictured is from the Velocity Restorations Bronco featured at the 2017 SEMA show. It is a drop-dead gorgeous vehicle and way, way, way out of my league, but I thought it was interesting that they had the same tailgate idea that I had. These are pictures of mine I took today.

This style emblem, centered, putting the red, white and blue decal on "FORD" and painting the truck Ginger Ale. Comments?

I like it. I'm all for small custom work that looks factory but die hards can tell.
