Thanks for the positive comments!
I think Powdercoat seems to be the way....now what color? I don't know much about Powdercoat but seems like there's some flexibility regarding finish. It'll be black, just not sure if I should add a finish or like a hammer coat or Krinkle finish. I had the Rear section of the cage modified 11 years ago, and rollbar pad and tape covered some sins. Its another one of those where do I stop!! 10 years ago I would've spray bombed and loved it!!

Ok so here’s the update!! I MAY be getting it back on Thursday. I’ll be putting much of it back together and the flares on. The flares gave him some issues so he’s gonna work on that after I take everything else. He’s hoping he can wet sand the clear to get the ugly out...we’ll see. Truck is 90% wetsanded and buffed and looks Excellent!! The price for all this....well let’s call it priceless because I’m about to throw up on myself with how far over the estimate it went...but he does amazing work!!
Ok so on to positive stuff! Cage is dropped off to get power coated and Migs has the bumper plan! Btw- Migs is the man!(thanks Tasker!)
Here is the parts list for assembly...am I missing anything??
- All new hardware for fenders and grill
- new refurbished door latches
- new SS Strikers
- new door weatherstripping
- new Door window felts
- Amp Power Steps with Nicks Brackets
- new Flares...would like input w/screw layout
- new Door Latches(plan to gut my originals for smooth operation)
- new TBP one piece carpet and hold down kit
- new TBP Premium Seats with rear flip and fold
- new Stereo...this could take a while
- new Fox shocks
- new Bumpers

I’m sure there’s more...but that’s what I can remember right now. Can’t wait to get this back!!

Here’s the Powdercoat finish...what do you think?

Thanks !
Mike

Cant wait to see it!

I always wanted to do something like this to my 67. Have a pro do all the body work and paint, and then do an over all freshening of it. New wheels tires, updated suspension, ect. Maybe if I stop buying other broncos I could afford it! LOL

Well...here she is! I picked her up last night. The pictures don’t do it justice but I really love it! He still has to finish the flares and the hood scoop but I can wait on those. First thing my daughter and I did was put the wheels back on. Damn I miss this truck!!
Lots to do now!

Looking great. Someone spent allot of time getting the panels and doors hung right. Dont forget the wind wing rubbers. Make sure you rebuild the pivot post stuff so the wind wing works properly.

Almost there! Hopefully a week or so and I’ll start the reassembly. Love the color, very different from the yellow...can’t say my kids agree..

What do you all think about Linex on the cage? It’s powdercoated now and I suppose it can be re powdercoated but just wanted to see who has done it and do you like it.

Thanks!
Mike

Mike, Color looks great! Will be really nice when finished. As for the cage, I would check into an upholstery shop and see if it would be reasonable to have the cage wrapped in a marine grade vinyl that looks like leather! Keep the pics coming!

I pretty much got it home, threw the wheels on and parked it for the weekend.
Got a bit done after work today though. A little setback, the powder coater couldn’t fit the cage in his booth so the hunt is on for another.
Got the grille dressed up and wired, and it was a good time to clean a lot of the old wiring. Door handles are on using the guts from my originals. Something is I bit strange on my drivers striker or latch...the striker is as low as the retainer in the pillar will allow, so the doors rides up slightly when it closes. I don’t remember this happening before. Has anyone else ran into this?
Other than that I’m extremly happy with the body lines and how it all going together.

More to come!

The hood pins are from Wild Horses. Cheap but if you don't mind spending a few bucks look at the Quick Latch Hood Pins
Quickhttps://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/Quick_Latch_Low_Profile_Hood_Pins-Pair/earlybroncofiberglasshoods

I'm gonna upgrade to these in the near future
