Bought my first EB the other day. I am very excited to get started.
I came across this 71’ wagon out of Utah. Minimal rust. Had the carburetor replaced and a few smaller services down to keep her in good driving shape. I sought out to find an all original one owner in good driving order to start my fun. I looked hard and came across some good and some bad finds. I found this one owner original out of Utah and went with my gut. Looking for any first initial ideas to keep this baby on the road. Let me know what you guys think and if I found a good one.

Welcome! Brakes, roll cage, seat belts................and the rest is up to you :) I'd make it safe, reliable and drive it as is.

Nice... I wonder if we spoke about mine. Either way glad you found one you are happy with! I would initially do brakes. My 69 is the first thing I've ever done a power disc conversion on and I couldn't be happier with how well it stops. I suggest it although I believe properly adjusted/maintained drums are fully capable of stopping a bronco.

Other than that, tires need to be free from dry rot, electrical needs to be checked and made reliable, at least as much as possible for original wiring, any problem areas addressed, tune-up and you should be good to go.

That will all get you on the road but need to start thinking steering components, bushings, bearings and all that jazz as well. I'm still getting to this stage with mine.

Good Luck.

I don't think that is the right one for you. I would be willing to take one for the team and buy it so you can keep looking for the right one. Ken :)

... WELCOME TO THE MADNESS....
iF YOUR HAPPY WITH IT We're happy with it..
We won't ask what you had to pay.. Not our business... But If you can steal afford to put more parts on it & fix it to suit yourself . Then your ok with your new Bronco .
But I say If you now own it & Can't afford to fix what you find wrong with it ... Then you have a little more BRONCO THAN YOU NEED ....
But now you need to reinvent the wheel & figure out how to fix your Bronco within your needs.

You came to the right place. This site has been a great help to me over the years. It looks really clean by the pictures. Make sure the braking components are good. Ensure the steering linkages, bushings, and suspension components are sound. A roll bar is a good idea, just google "rolled early bronco".

I understand roll bars make things safe but I truly feel that it impedes on the broncos factory looks. (at least with the top off) I know some people probably think roll bars make them look better. We all have our opinions. If I was wheeling all the time then I would do it but for now, I will just try and not roll it over. haha.

The 'wheeling' rollovers aren't the ones that will kill ya ;)

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ if you're wearing your seat belt.

I can see not having a roll cage if it's restoration back to original and it drives on the trailer, off the trailer to the car show, and back on the trailer.
