Covers from Bronco Hut arrived today, I think my wife done good ;) I knew better than to pick the color :-X

Yep, that color looks great. It goes with the body color nicely.

Makes me like my black interior less and less.

Thanks man, the color she picked is called Olive, and I didnt realize until last night the leftover paint can the guy gave me (where they had to match the old paint for the hood and top) is labeled a Toyota color called Olive, she’s got a good eye.

Stripped down the bench and passenger seats, an insert stripped out of each piece of plywood so I’ll just make new ones, and the pass seat frame was crusty but still solid. Also picked up a side mirror from a Galaxie 500 Fastback yesterday, glass is broken by its remote controlled ;D

I think she likes to see where her money's goin Ken ;D

I've never done seats before so hopefully progress will not be impeded too much...10 or so years ago I paid a little upholstery shop $250 to install the covers on my 66 Mustang seats ;)

I think part of the trick for installing seats is the temperature of the upholstery. A steam heater would be nice but I think a regular heat gun would work. Or maybe warm them up in a dryer? Good luck with them. Ken

Quick update I rebuilt the column shift, installed new TBP steering wheel, installed new WH 3-way adjustable drag link/tie rods, about 80% done with carpet and started on the seats today since we finally got some SUN to warm up the covers. Steering is soooo much better now, the old tie rods were causing a good 6” of play!! Oh and finally cleaned up my junkyard wheels (the front anyway) while I had em off for front end work ;D

Many thanks to Bronkenn and DirtDonk for their assistance during this latest chapter ;)

Hey Jeff, I see your better half working on them seats. They look nice and the wheels look good. Making some progress on that Bronco. Hope it works out well for you, you've put a lot of effort in it. Ken

Nah that's my kiddo cleaning her floor mats...she's had her car almost a year now and has cleaned it more than my son has cleaned his in almost 3 years %)

My wife WAS helping me with the seats though. I did not get new foam for the bench (I did for fronts) and she felt they did not have enough padding so she pulled the foam out of an old pillow...too lumpy so she's going to get some foam from the hobby store.

I test drove it right after I took those pics and steering is great now. I do need to get used to the smaller wheel though, but it seems to have more grip with the indentations on the back side.

I somehow managed to switch the shift rods %) so I had to shift VERY carefully on the drive ;D

How is it shifting now that you've rebuilt the column? I got the same tie rod kit from Wildhorse's and they are a good looking setup, much beefier than stock, and the adjustability is great. Ken

Glad it drives good but that wiring issue sucks. Do you think maybe a wire got crossed in the steering column plug? Good luck with it. Ken

Thanks folks, I survived the trip, man that's some beautiful country Krawlers Edge is nestled into...Thomas was great, gave me a tour of the shop and some projects they were working on, like a Coyote EB with new tub, frame, everything, the steering shaft had about 1/8" clearance from the valve cover and he said that was an improvement!

Anyway got the cage home, powder coat looks amazing...already hit my head on the bar while strapping it in, so I think I'll leave the padding in place for a bit %)

Going to put the top back on before I bolt in the cage to make sure top will fit later!

Also got new turn signal switch from JBG...that will probably be my focus today because it's running so good i wanna drive it but i got no brake lights or turn signals!!

...and Mary I told them you said Hi, they said "Who?" jk ;D:cool:

That cage looks really good in there. I like the ones that attach to the windshield frame. Saw them put one in a Bronco at SC and it fits nice, Ken

Gee Jeff, I hope you didn’t dent that nice new cage or chip the powder coating?!?
;D. Sure would be a shame to mar it up the first day....may have to get a helmet so you can take the wrapping off, lol.

Thomas and everyone at KE are top notch folks, and have worked hard and helped a lot of EB owners along the way.

Yes it is beautiful country, and not that far from Townsend and Super Celebration. Now you know why you can’t miss it next year - looks even better with 500+ Broncos everywhere! Glad you had a safe trip and that you’ll be ready to get some driving time in now that the weather is nice. Enjoy!
