Let's see your cages or examples of what you like. I'm trying to decide on a family cage design and have looked at 100's of pictures. I seem to switch my thoughts on them when I sleep on it a few days at a time. Right now, I think I like the WildHorses4x4.com "Family Cage" design the best:

https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/Family_Custom_Cage/Early_Bronco_Roll_Bars_Cages

I don't want a "squared off" look but more of an aggressive look like Rockstar Bronco which looks like WH's design:

https://www.google.com/search?q=roc...2b_XAhUIOiYKHRm_CVYQ_AUICigB&biw=1366&bih=637

Due to expensive shipping costs, I'm leaning towards having a custom cage built locally. If so, what size tubing would you recommend? And any other recommendations?

I just picked up my Bailie Bilt cage this weekend, and I haven't installed it yet. So, no pix of it in the Bronco, but I have no doubt others will post pix of their Bailie Bilt cages in their Broncos.

I couldn't be more happy with it. Gordon is great to work with, and the quality of his cages is top notch.

I built both of mine. If I were to buy one it would be a bc or a bailiebuilt. Protofab also makes nice stuff that some of the vendors sell

I built my own loosely based on BC Broncos design, I really liked that it is frame tied by design, and there's no glove box/ebrake issue. It's 1-3/4" x .120.

I would hang up my cage on obstacles when off camber. I swapped it out for a Bailie Bilt halo design family cage and solved the problem.

I built mine. I had more time in deciding exactly how I wanted it to look and still be functional. It clears a hard top and a soft top.

X2

The Green Bronco has hung the cage on a tree several times. I like the cage other than that issue. It's a Crab cage.
The White bronco has a bailie bilt cage as described by BroncoJAK which solves that issue. It's also built to where it would less likely to push thru the floor if not tied to the frame.

There a member on here (Dustin?) who works for Spyder I️ think who custom built his cage in a pre-runner design. That was the best looking cage I’ve seen. I️ think you can find it with a search. I️ stumbled across it when researching led lights.

I really like your design...simple, smooth, and works with the body lines. I'm thinking about doing something similar and will probably borrow some ideas from your cage. Am I correct that the lower seat frames are 1.5" tubing and the grab handles 1"? Is there any reason you didn't run a B-pillar spreader along the floor? Anything you'd change or done differently now that you've driven it a bit?

Thanks, Tobin! You are correct, the seat frame is 1.5" and the grab handles are 1" I will be adding the other floor bars when I get aftermarket seats. I added the rear floor bars so my son could ride along with me now. I will be adding a B floor bar and some A to B door bars when I cough up the cash for some Mastercraft seats.

My Nicks Trix cage is the best looking IMHO, next to his is Krawlers Edge, they are great cages and we install them in all of our builds and couldn't be happier.

I've been researching one for my bronco as well and really like the one Spareparts is selling on here. Do a search under his name on bronco parts for sale and check it out. I would attach a pic and save you the trouble if i knew how lol

Look up all4funoffroad on eBay. He is out of oregon. Custom built by placing pieces in jig, tack welded for fit. Then broken down and shipped to you with instructions. Great buy and quality.

Another vote for all4fun aka broncobob ....... put a few of his in. He can modify the design a little if you want/ask. I eliminated the kicker and had him add a spreader between b and c pillars inside. This is the tall boy option.
To me this cage seems sound in design with out going overboard and looking like a prison of metal.

I have the WH San Fillipe (below). I like it well enough. If shipping weren't astronomical, I would have bought the WH Family Custom Cage. Thicker tubes and a bit more stylish.
