Wow. I am fascinated by this enginuety. Most of the world greatest accomplishments were achieved with trial an error. Trial an error exhilarates the mind. Make it happen my man.

Here's a small sampling of the various jigs and forms I've tried to utilize to get the scoop in the desired shape. Some sort of worked and others just bent the $h!t out of it when I put my foot (well, actually, both feet, and the rest of me) down. Also, I took the plunge and cut the hole in the back 40 hood.

Sometimes when you take a plunge, you realize you're in over your head - so I went to the wizards and lifeguards at Quality sheet metal in beautiful Zeeland. They straightened me out, straightened the hood out and fixed me up with some more pieces and parts and I do believe it's gonna work! Tomorrow the back 40 hood gets sand blasted, along with some door shells that look a LOT like future Snoop doors to me, that is, after the scoop is done and I'm a better welder.... Hmmm, scoops and Snoops, how 'bout dat!

By gummy, this just might work after all! Starting to take the shape I had wanted, after only 724 false starts, back-ups and turn-arounds. Tomorrow I get to pick up the sand-blasted back 40 hood and door shells! Already looking forward to it!

Got the new, improved pieces and parts tacked in this morning, along with the new center filler.

Picked up the back 40 hood and the Snoop door seedlings. Hood isn't as nice as I would like, not sure whether to repair this one or replace it with the original one. Judges, comments please.......

Cut some notches to test fit the latest variation. Test fit went pretty good and the view from the front, up close and personal, gets an O.K.

I'd like to keep it simple, although some might say that ship sailed with the first post, but my mind keeps wandering. Hmmm........

Very nice Fordfan! I like the "Cleveland" on the side, and that is a very good lookin' color! Thank you all for the input re: vent scoops. I am leaning toward keeping the ball rollin' and any further mods can be done later if desired and if I haven't gone crazier.

I know it's premature, but I'm thinkin' 'bout paint colors and schemes. I like the design of the Bronco with some 'tude! Seriously considering Ginger Ale or some incarnation of Arizona Beige, both ford colors from a few years back. Gonna hafta go with the interior.......

So now my plan is to have Quality Sheet Metal in Zeeland bend up a new leading edge for the back 40 hood and use some sort of epoxy and POR 15 solution to cure the cancer.....
Maybe new metal somehow, depending on how the leading edge repair goes. If I had to do it over again, I would not cut the back 40 hood notch toward the front. Rather, I would scribe the scoop filler piece to fit the hood contour in order to maintain integrity.
