Ford crate engines

I worked this past weekend on putting a rear main seal on the 351 W in my Bronco. During this process, I asked a friend of mine who is a retired diesel mechanic,to come by and look at some things for me. His last job at the shop he worked with before his retirement was to do failure analysis on engines that the shop had built. Anyway , I had him look at some of the bearings in the bottom end and he did not like what he saw. So I am at the point of doing some engine work or maybe finding a replacement engine. I looked on the Ford racing site at crate engines, they used to offer a 351W truck engine ,complete except for carb. If I remember you could get one of these engines from them or places like Jeg's or GEFracing for less than $3000.00. Does Ford not offer these particular engines ant longer? If they are available, where can they be found ?

i'm not 100% positive, but I thought I read that ford racing discontinued those truck motors that were cheap.

Ford Motorsport no longer offers that crate engine. I was fortunate to get one a few years ago. It was M-6007-S58 (pic below). Mine now has EFI on it.

Hawaii Racing (actually in Simi Valley, CA) offer new crate motors. These are about the best deals I have seen on factory Ford crate engines.

Complete Ford Lightning 351W ($4800 but looks like in comes with all the EFI stuff - New): http://www.hawaiiracing.com/?page=s...category_id=19300af413657630922459d9499840fd&

Complete Truck 351W EFI crate - New ($2995): http://www.hawaiiracing.com/?page=s...category_id=19300af413657630922459d9499840fd&

Complete 94-95 Mustang EFI crate - New ($3495): http://www.hawaiiracing.com/?page=s...category_id=19300af413657630922459d9499840fd&

For those prices you could rebuild your351 into a 393/408 and have one hell of an engine! If your 351 still runs drive it until you figure out what you want to do. Your not going.g to hurt it anymore......

Biggest reason that ford no long offers them as they dont produce new 351W blocks anymore even most of the engines they do offer now have overbored blocks.
