How to prep a galvanized DC tailgate for primer?

Any ideas? I know paint doesn’t stick well to galvanized steel, so I don’t think I should just spray epoxy primer on there.

Thoughts?

Find an epoxy primer that will adhere to galvanized metal. I rough up the surface and shoot the primer per manufacture instructions. I use SPI products and they work very well and also have outstanding customer service. Ken

Great advice. For some reason I didn’t even think to check the data sheet for the epoxy primer. Thanks.
