This FAQ is for propane only systems. A gasoline/propane system does exist,however that is another topic.
Pros
:A propane engine will run on vertially any angle, Probably upside down, however, this has yet to be tested personaly.
:Not susceptible to fuel slosh; won't stall unless you stall it.
:Higher octane rating than regular gasoline, Opinions vary, but all say between 100-112 octane.
:normaly cheaper than gasoline,about $18.42 for and 8 gallon tank,$2.30 or so a gallon.
:burns much cleaner than gasoline.
:convertion kits are relativley cheap, a V8 convertion will run about $1,000.00-$1,200.00
:Virtualy any internal combustion engine can be converted to propane, If you can run your Bronco on a 5 horsepower Briggs & Stratton you can convert it to propane;D
ropane systems are simple to install. More or less a bolt on system.
:require little to no maintenance.
:very tolerant to climate and altitude changes, Your sea leve tune will work flawlessly at 6,000 feet and vise versa.
: Very safe, sealed system, fuel will not spill out in a rollover
Cons
:Availability; can't just drive up to any gas station and fill up your propane tank.
ropane makes about 74% of the power of gasoline.
:fuel milage is alittle worse. 1 gallon of propane is equal to about 9/10ths of a gallon of gas give or take.
:smells like your driving fork lift on the trails.
:you will have a hard time getting someone to bring you a 5 gallon can of propane if you run out.
