My 8500 instructions warned about using LED bulbs, but I tried one anyway and it's been fine. I think it might have something to do with the brand of bulb.
Liftmaster support team can only read the script they are supplied anything requiring thinking is not allowed. Very frustrating when dealing with a warranty part that needs to be replaced.
Manufacturer of LED can make a huge difference.
Glad you guys haven't had a problem yet. Many locations that have multiple 8500's have 1or 2 with no issues but the ones that do fail open the door and leave it open, winter or summer until you or someone else notices.
