I still have plenty to do like sandblast the front bumper and paint it then mount the winch. Build or buy a rear bumper and install the Autometer gauges and alot of small things.

Here are the updated pics.

Awesome work, I love that black primer look, yours looks so good that way, that I think you just talked me into doing that with mine. That way when something happens to it, God forbid, I can fix it and black it out again. Great work, keep it up.

Just mounted the new wheels and tires. Still need to finish stripping the front bumper and paint it and then install the winch. Also need to build a rear bumper, the one on there is not staying.

I don't usually go for the modern looking wheels on EB's but that rig really looks good, you have done a nice job.

They were not my first choice but they were the cheapest $125 for 5 of them. I almost painted them black first but decided to try them out as is and I think it is the right amount of the shiny stuff.

Cage looks awesome! Was the tube bender expensive to build? Did you find it to be cost effective to build it yourself?

I had about $1500 into it including 3 dies. I sold it last fall but if I were to do it again and be more budget minded I would use the copperhead bracket and a harbor freight air/hydraulic cylinder. It was nice to be fully hydraulic though and I have a 12v pump I could use if I were to build another.

I would love to build my own cage but I just don't think it would be cost effective. There are a few cages from vendors for a couple hundred dollars but I don't like the look.

Try to find a shop in your area that can custom make a cage for you, it will be a little more $$$ but that way you can get what you want.

Did more work on it today. Spent about 3 hours and boxed in the rear frame rails, I should have taken before pics but I did not think of it.

Here is what I got done, next is to build a rear bumper.

I was lucky, it came with the bronco when I bought it and yes it is metal and a nicely made one. I would have the Glove box door on it but I broke the latch and am out of argon for the tig welder to fix it.

Thanks for the compliments.

Is was 60 degrees out today so I decided to start the trans swap.

Going to put in a 4R70W/205 combo.

I did the initial research a few years ago and want to get reacquainted with the details and am not coming up with the thread I remember reading.

It was a build of someones that was very detailed from start to finish.

I plan to keep searching but any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think from the time I took off from my Bronco and this site has me feeling a little lost.

Edit: I think I found the thread I was thinking about which is DanWheelers build. But he used an Atlas.

I would like to see pictures of a 4R70w mated to a 205 to see what clearancing is needed by the shift rail and to see what I might might not be thinking of to make the swap happen.

I dont have the twin stick for mine yet, to make sure I cut enough. But I took the extension housing off and mated it to the 205, as well as I could to see what I had to cut, make sure you have a gasket to verrify you dont cut too much... I'll check my camera to see if I have any pic's of it, but its really not too big of a deal. I used a sawsall and cleaned it up with a flap disk then roll locks.. Looks like it was designed with the slice missing..
