Wanting to order some mickey Thompson classic iii in a 16" wheel. What size should I order? I don't like the look of wide fat wheels and tires that stick out past the fenders. Thanks

Have you considered 17 inch wheels?
Then you could use the M/T Classic III in 17x9 and run 34x10.50x17 BFGs.

I've not thought about 17's. I have a bone stock 302 with 44k original miles on it and don't want to overload it too much on tire weight. I was thinking along the lines of 32 or 33" tire.

I'm more partial to the taller skinnier tires like. 275/70 vs a 287/65

I think I'm pretty set on going with 16" wheels just gotta figure out the wheels size

In the 16 inch M/T Classic III your choices are 16x8 16x10 or 16x12, since you want a narrower tire that pretty much leaves you with 16x8

17x8' wheel with 4.5" Backspacing - AR Baja, AR969....

Baja is similar to the MT Classic.

265/70/17 Tires - 32x10.50

The Orange 69 Bronco in My Garage has this Combo.

I just got a set of Mickey Thompson Classic III and I love them. I went with 15x8 and it looks great in that width with a 31x10.50 on it. I think you’ll be fine with a 16x8.

I would suggest a 16 or 17" wheel no wider than 8", probably best in the 7" range for what you are after.

How much of difference would the look be between the 16x8 vs 16x10? Any pics for comparison?

Sorry, no pics.
How wide is the tire you want to use?
You don't want the wheel to be wider than the tire.
It's better if it is not more than about 80% of the tire width.

You can often find the tire dimensions in inches for metric tires on the company's website, at least ones that sell in the US.

Don't really know. I'm not well versed on the tire deminsions and such. I think want to run 32's so whatever size that turns into

Going by the 80% figure:

A 16x8 wheel would work with a 32x10 tire.

A 16x10 wheel would work with a 32x12.50 tire.

I just went through this. I had a nice set of 16" wheels. I wanted 165-75-16 tires. There are plenty out there, however, they all had "E" load ratings. Heavy ten ply tires are hard to justify on a Bronco. The added centrifugal weight is really noticeable when you drive with them and they didn't go with my Bronco's weight loss program. They did handle and drive well when up to speed though.
I ended up just going back to 15" rims.

I agree with the above. I've got two sets of 16 X 7 steel rims. 4 ply 32" Super Swampers on one set, 33" D rated Treadwright mud terrains on the other.

The Swampers are great off road, but next time I need something more friendly on the street, I'll probably go with 15 or 17 inch.

Used to be a lot of non E-rated 16 tires available, but I can't find many choices now.
