Driving my 4bt '77 to Alaska (again), and looking for friends along the way
So some of you may remember me from the first time I made this trip http://classicbroncos.com/forums/sho...+bronco+alaskaWell I知 heading up again this year but this time from North Carolina to Alaska, with one small twist. Over the winter I dropped a 4bt in my Bronco (Ok so I lied about the small part). First off I知 not looking to start up a diesel vs. gasser thread (lord knows we have beat that horse to death ), but instead I知 looking for friends with tools and perhaps a floor to crash on along the way (anybody in or around Sioux Falls, SD?). Since I知 driving a largely (except for a few hundred mile shakedown runs) unproven Bronco, I figured it would be good to connect with a few people along the way (just in case). And I've never run into a Bronco owner that I didn稚 like so I figured this would be as good a place as any to bum a floor Here's a link to my basic route http://unc.facebook.com/album.php?ai...25c&id=2736872
Chime in if you池e on the way!
P.S Anyone lending a floor will be well paied in wild Alaskan Salmon on the return trip

It looks like the route you have planned isn't the shortest way to get there.
I played with my map CD and came up with a route that knockes close to or maybee more than 400 miles off your trip.
Take a look at this route

Hey guys thanks for all the replies! No its defiantly not the shortest route, but Im leaving here the 9th, stopping in Nashville to see some friends and staying there for the night, then hopefully stopping around Sioux Falls for the night, and then stoping in Missoula to catch up with some friends from college. From there on out the route is less accurate as we generally go through Banff and Jasper and then pick up the ALCAN in Dawson Creek. Ranger345 I may have to take you up on that if I cant find anything closer to Sioux Falls. nephic2, thanks, Ill be passing right through Buffalo, beautiful place, I love that first view of the bighorns you get as 90 starts to drop down! AKwheeler, I知 pretty much taking the Tok cut off down to Anchorage, but Ill keep you in mind because I知 thinking about a trip up to the Brooks Range sometime this summer... Thanks everyone keep it coming!
