PO / Bronco Builder- Wrong or Responsible to name him?
As I finally actually own my bronco legally after 8 months (you can read the account here): PO Shafted Me! - I have a question for you guys. Since the PO builds and sells broncos for a living, is it wrong to post his info on here along with my story? Or is it the responsible thing to do (to try to save others from what he put me through)?
I'm not one to gossip or revenge. And, I'm not out to hurt him. but this is just wrong and I don't want anyone else to get taken.
What do you think?

As long as you've given him a chance to resolve the issues, then post away!

This is the way I feel as well. If that matters.

I gave him 8 months, countless phone calls and e-mails. He never responded and never got me the paperwork he promised. I'm not sure else I could have done, aside from taking him to court (which was about to be the next step).

I say post it. I had the same thing happen and there was no resolution. His name is mud now in the Bronco world. There is a difference between outright theft and a misunderstanding. Be prepared to take some heat though. Everyone sees things differently.

Read the soap opera of the next thread, make sure you want THAT can of worms then let'r rip. Just be careful, if a few people on here know him, or know of him, they could turn on you.... quick.

I don't know him, but can understand how this could happen at least one time, but after that he should ask the buyer about their state requirements on vintage vehicle registrations. I have lived in Alabama my entire life, and always thought every state only required titles for 1976 and up. When I bought my first truck, a 72 Chevy, the owner wrote the bill of sales on a piggly wiggly bag, then tore around it and handed it to me. I took it to DMV and got the tag, they don't even have to see the vehicle, you pay them and your done. All that is required here, are the names of buyer and seller, make, model, vin #, color, the sellers signature, and the amount paid, and nobody ever puts the real amount because they base your tax on it.
We still don't have to title ATV's either, but I hear it's in the near future.

Tell me who it is, I'll post it! Sounds like someone I would NOT want my friends dealing with and it I could warn them, I would! Good luck, you are in a bad position for someone with morals and values. Sounds like something your Bronco Builder is lacking!

Well it is as easy as searching Jims posts. Go to his first post, and there is the builders name.
Dennis Burton of Fackler, AL
See now Jim didn't do anything wrong, it was just my detective work that found it.
Jim I am happy you got your Bronco all legal

Dude, that was sneaky like a ninja! Thanks for the happiness!!!! I'm stupid happy!
Ok, just so we don't get into another "Bad Head Sale" thread battle:
1. A "title" is a specific legal document. It doesn't mean "ownership" or "registration" or anything else. It's a TITLE.
2. He advertised it as having a "clear title"
3. Alabama DOES NOT title cars prior to 1976
4. Therefore, it did not have a legal "title" and his ad was misleading, incorrect or Fraud.
5. For 8 months I tried to get some kind of documentation beyond an UN-NOTARIZED Bill of Sale. But I never got anything.
Please don't flame me. Look at the e-bay ad if you don't believe me. (and no, I didn't buy it through e-bay, so they couldn't help me.)
Thanks for all the support.
Jim

I may be a newbie to this site, but I've owned my '69 sport 14 years. It's a pleasure reading honorable chains such as this one... plus all of the great technical advice I coud ever want. You all rock!
