Figured I would post up the install thread of my blackbox-i. I am running a AOD with 4wd output and intermediate adapter along with a dana 20 I just finished rebuilding and modifying the shiftrails. I will also be running the WH extreme output and also triple cable shifters for Northwest Fab. This blackbox is specific to the bronco d20 and I must say a impressive peice of machinery.

Here are some pics of the start of the install and the separation of the unit to bolt it to the d20 along with the 3/16 spacer. Test fit of the the input in the trans is next along with bolting the unit to the d20 and then all together. I will be taking pics along the way, more to come

Will do Herman, I am going to make a bolt on bracket separate for the D20- at least thats the plan. I will keep you updated

Very nice , what year is your AOD ? Did you have to have and adapter to mate the Black box up to the AOD or could you order the correct bolt pattern?
I've been looking into a doubler of some sort just havn't made up my mind .

Its a 92 mustand AOD with a 89 31 spline 4wd output/intermediate adapter from a bronco. The blackbox bolts right up with no adapters which is nice and saves some money and it adds only 5 inches to the drivetrain.

Thats weird- it was working yesterday and I spoke to Kyle there yesterday. They may be loading more info- he said they were adding more stuff to the sight.

I just checked the site again this morning 6:20 am and it said the domain name had expired. Keeping my fingers crossed they renew shortly.

update

Finally got to test fitting to the trans. The output is a little to long so I need to cut 3/4 of an inch off. I still have plenty of spline to engage. More to come- just havent had a lot of spare time

I had to hack a chunk off my Atlas2 to get it to mate up as well, just take your time and it will cut fine. I used a 7" angle grinder with a cutting disk, was easy.

Be careful about crashlocking that D20 with all that reduction, my input gears were not happy.

I was thinking the same thing- I am using a 4in and gonna cut it slow so i dont heat it up to much.

Its gonna be interesting to see how the D20 does.
