B.R.O.N.CO Safari & Area BFE
I sent this e-mail out to some of the different Bronco mialing list so I thought I would post it here also.
As most of you know I'm one of the individuals that helped purchased the property that Upper Helldorado trail is on. The property is now known as Area BFE. We have trails that run the gambit so should have something that fits most everyone's wheeling style.
I've been corresponding with Ben Saunders about the B.R.O.N.CO Safari in May and having one of the days during the week be an event at the site. Didn't want to step on any toes so I went over this with Ben first before going out to the lists. My partner Jeremy came up with the idea of having a barbecue and welcoming all of the Bronco's to Moab. Ben didn't think that was necessary but we (Jeremy and I) wanted to offer it out there to see if there was interest. Jeremy lives in Moab and would be making all of the arrangements. I have offered to pick up the tab for the meat, the rest could be pot luck. It would be a day of wheeling at the property followed by food with Bronco friends. (Meat budget will come out of the funds I planned on spending this year to help Chuck with Baja, but he is RICH and will take it in stride.)
This is just an idea that I'm floating out there to see if there is interest. I would like it to be one of the week days, I'm not arriving until late Saturday or Sunday morning and will have to leave the following Saturday or Sunday. I know that some of you have probably already made plans to do different trails on certain days, so I'm looking to find a day that works out best for the most people. So to start I'm open to any of the weekdays but we need to make a decision on the day soon.
With this week being EJS Jeremy has arranged Magazine coverage of the W.E.Rock & XXRA Rock Race we are having at the property. Jeremy knew that I was coming out for Bronco Safari and has also made arrangement to do some filming one day while I was out there. If this works for everyone and we do it, he will make arrangement to do an article for one of the mags for this event also.
Let me know what you think.

Like I said at the SoCal site. Give me a date and I'll be there. Anyone who buys property to keep it open for us has my vote.

I am not rich, just spend all my money to look like I am. While you guys are eating that meat remember I may not be going to Baja this year because you are eating that meat. Just kidding, I think it is a great idea and will be there for the BBQ and anything else I can help out with. The guys involved with the land deal deserve a round of applause from all of us and any support we can give. They put their money out to save this land for all of us. If not for them this land would now be in the hands of the greenies. Let me know how I can help.

Hey Bart, I'm not on the SoCal list so haven't seen what was cross posted there. It's kind of split right now between those that want it early week and late depending on when they are going to be there. If one of you guys on the SoCal list could let me know what the tone is there I'll get my decision made soon.

I think it's a GREAT idea! Unfortunately I can't make it for the entire week like the last few years :'( but I'll definitely plan my trip around this. I'd request either early or late in the week, not the middle.

Sounds like a great idea. I would like to see the area up close. I have wheeled the Upper Helldorado trail before it was purchased by BFE, knidalike to see how the trails are progressing. Sorry to have missed the extreme rock racing, but we just pulled into town on Sat. I haven't decided whether I will be there for the entire week, or from Weds. on. So count me in for the latter part of the week.

Bringin this back to the top
I've been swamped with work so haven't kept this on top. As I figured it would be, it was a split decision. Early in the week is getting the nod by 1 vote, from whats here and the e-mail I put out. It wasn't a big showing though from what I have recieved. 5 for early and 4 for later and 4 for either. I'll be speaking with Jeremy to confirm something this afternoon, but for right now it looks like Tuesday the 17th.

As much as I hate it I will not be able to attend this year. The raffle prize will be in the mail this week. Hope everyone has a great time.

Don't take the lack of responce as lack of interest - I think many of us are looking forward to it, but not really concerned on which day.

Not taking it that way, actually worried about it being the opposite. It would be nice to have somewhat of a head count when I go to purchase the meat for the barbecue. I would hate to not have enough or having to figure out where to put all of the extra.

Count me in as one if it's either Mon or Tues. Wed, Thurs, of Fri will be two because my wife is flying in on Wed. She couldn't get enough time off work.
