left frame rail to T-case measurement
I am installing a NV4500 in my EB, Installed new AA motor mounts and set back in frame and can't twist the engine far enough to hook up the rear mount. I have it over to 3" from left frame rail to the T-case but it needs to go over at least another inch or a little more. Could someone measure yours and tell me what it is? All parts are from AA except for transmission. It looks like the starter will hit if it goes over much more. New Info as of 05/01/2005 Measurements from inside left frame rail to 1st hole in X-member is 11" to 2d hole is 15 3/4". Inside frame to inside frame is 23 3/8" at X-member location. Set Engine, Transmission and T-case back in frame all together, transmission is what won't line up.
Help Please,
Scott

A picture would be good. The starter is on the pass side frame rail so moving the engine towards the driver's side (left) shouldn't increase the interference. Maybe I'm not understanding what's wrong, but you shouldn't have to twist and lever your motor around. It should basically "drop" in with some minor alignment issues.

Sorry I don't have a picture, To bolt the transmission mount up the Engine and transmission needs to turn counter clockwise and that will make the starter hit. I have it over as far as I think it should be and it is 3" from left rail now but I need another 1" or more. (used this measurement as it looked like the best spot to make reference point.) Didn't know if mount was wrong or crossmember was drilled wrong. I will call AA tomorrow

Elemetal is right you should not have to twist any thing to ge your motor mounts lined up. The motor should slide right in with the mid line of the motor and tranny lined up with the mid line of the vehicle. With out seeing any pictures I would have to guess two things.
1. Wrong motor mounts.
2. Frame is not square.

That is my point! I think th X-member is wrong, that is why I was asking someone to tell me the relation ship of the T-case and the frame and I thought the easest place to measure it would be between the left frame rail and the T-case. I will wait till tomorrow an call AA and get some measurements on the X-member. Thanks for your thoughts.
