Clear Cover Decision, Support our Troops!!

Guys::

You know I am known for getting on my soapbox occasionally but this one REALLY disturbed TOFIC, TOFWIC and TOFCIC. It started when all of you suppported my little venture in a big and overwhelming way. Many thanks for that. In the process of developing a build list we got an inquiry from a serving member of the armed forces that is a member of the Board.

He wrote us that he was interested in a cover but had some "temporary fiscal difficulties at the moment". This bothered us no end, what the hell is with both our countries that our service people cannot afford to have a thirty dollar toy for their Bronco. The Mrs. read that and said "That is not right, he fights for our freedom and can't afford one?,. Somethings really wrong with us if thats the case." ( now i know why I married her and keep her).

She was right, guys, something is wrong with our countries if this is the case. This does not exist while I draw breath, drive my Bronco, and express my opinions on my favorite website. Maybe I am just being foolish or sentimental but NO member of the forces that fights for my freedoms goes without while I draw a free breath in a free country. I am correcting this wrong RIGHT now.

Yes I know who it is and yes, thanks to other individuals who have the same beliefs as I do, I know where the individual lives.

So, Early Bronco nut and Freedom Fighter, Your clear transfer case cover was hand made with lots of love and respect and will be sent to you on Monday at NO cost to you. My way of saying thank you for fighting for my freedoms and big love and kisses from TOFWIC.

The discussion we had was what identifier to put on our member of the armed forces that is a fellow Bronco nut. After much discussion, I believe you guys will agree that what we labelled it is the MOST appropiate name we could of given it.. Pictures below.

Not trying to start an arguement here but the troops that are in the US Military are paid fairly well and the vast majority of them could afford it if they wanted to.

i didn't think they made much, but it's the thought that counts.

Don't get me wrong. They aren't getting rich but they do fair better than a lot of others do. When I was in I was able to buy a new truck and a house because that is how I chose to spend my money. And your right it is the thought that counts which I think is great because it shows support for our troops.

Walker949 Thats really cool. You have my upmost respect.
As a member of the US armed forces I cant speak for my counterparts in the Canadian forces but we get paid fairly well but its still a little lower than the average american makes and depending on what rank you are it can be tough for some especailly with families but usually if they are careful with there money they can live comfortably. Sometimes it may seem like we dont get paid enough especailly when we are getting shot at but we get paid the same even if its just sitting on the beach somewhere so you have to take the good with the bad. I for one try to go to middle east every chance I get because it means more money in my pocket as we get extra pay for being in a combat zone and also exempt from paying income tax not only that there is very little to buy over there so all I spend money on is the nessecities I probably spent less than $300 in 6 months over there. Then I can come home and buy all kinds of new parts for my bronco.

Not lower enlisted in CONUS--they don't make shit. And pay problems are always persistant, especially when coming back from a deployment or going on deployment.

As a military serviceman, I applaud your efforts, TOFIC. Thanks.

I concur. I am deployed now, but instead of saving my money, I am busy buying stuff online and having a buddy put in in storage!!

I spend maybe 10 bucks a week on personal stuff, though....

MP, As I said I don't want to start an arguement. When I left I was only an E-4 Sgt. so I do have a decent idea of how much lower enlsted make. During the first 8 years or so after I got out there were many times when I would have given anything to get paid as well as Uncle Sam paid me. Irregardless of pay I think more people should show support for our troops so I think it is great that TOFIC has done this.

You are correct.
It all depends on the choices an individual makes with his life and money.
But it was a very nice gesture made by walker949.

Nurses are also underpaid and we are literally in "the shit". Walker 949 is an awesome guy. I hope to meet our fellow in Iraq (MP) upon his safe return to thank him for his and his fellow soldiers for their efforts. BI
