Embarassed My Girls Body...need help!!!

I'm working on my girlie girls bod (77')...started in on body work and need some expert advice! Started sanding down and removing PO's filler...yikes! Got most off, some holes to deal with and weld...got questions...

After sanding down completely, what should I use to tame rust before applying any filler and/or primer? Have heard "Extend" mentioned...I know nothing...

I'm going to POR-15 the my inner fenders to treat from behind...huh, huh...but I'm more concerned with what to put down before paint...

Some notes here...this is my "daily driver"...I restored others but didn't do the body work myself. My 76' is my "real pride and joy" that I will take more time on...this particular project is just to get rid of some rust, slow any down, and put a new look on my girls body...so perfection isn't the top priority but I am taking my time...not exactly a MAACO job if ya' catch my drift...

Any thoughts??? 2BAD, can ya' here me callin'

Gotta sandblast it to be sure. I'm sure the extend works somewhat but I just wouldn't want to bet my life on it. If you are going this far it is a shame to take a chance. Materials today cost so much it is painfull to do it once let alone a second time. If the pits are not real deep you can probably get away with a 3M clean and strip wheel but you have to make sure all of the dark spots are gone. Whatever you do cover up any bare spots untill you are ready to work on those areas. If you spray a nice coat of epoxy primer on the bare spots you can do bodywork right over the epoxy primer.
If you spots are really small and not too deep at all you may be able to just cover the spots with POR15 , cover with tie coat primer and then use sandable primer over the tie coat primer. POR says the tie coat is sandable but you may just want to use the same primer on the entire thing.

Thanks 2Bad...I worked a bunch last night and got everything stripped off...this has turned into a "partial restoration now"...Removed all weatherstripping, seals, hardware, glass, etc. Got tired of sanding and read your email...called the local guys up (media) and they want 500 to do the whole thing, minus the bottome and chassis of course (they are fine). He will do the inside, outside, fender wells, hood (both sides) and clean it up for $500 so that's the route I'm leaning to now.

What do think?
