SanDiego - 3rd Annual Shelter Island Shindig
Where: Shelter Island Park
When: Sunday October 23rd @ 1pm till dark
What: Just a get together .. We will provide a grill and some hot dogs / condiments.. Feel free to bring whatever else you want.
Hey everyone.. its that time again. Come on out for a afternoon of tire kicking and story swapping out at Shelter Island park in San Diego. It is a kind of potluck/picnic... nothing fancy. There will be a grill, some dogs/buns, and whatever else you decide to bring. We will be gathering up at Shelter Island park around 1pm till dark on Sunday October 23rd.
For those that dont know where this is, Shelter Island park is right on San Diego bay.
From the 8 coming from the east or 5 coming from the north, exit Rosecrans and stay with it a few miles and take a left on Shelter Island Drive. This will curve around to the right as you come up to the bay and the park is on your left.
From the 5 coming from the south, exit PCH, then exit Barnett. Take your first right (at a light) onto Midway Then Left on Rosecrans and stay with it a few miles and take a left on Shelter Island Drive. This will curve around to the right as you come up to the bay and the park is on your left.
Please try to let me know if you plan on making it with your bronco.. I will try to reserve enough spaces for everyone in one area.

You got a month before the shindig... maybe you will have the engine stuff sorted by then.. if not, no worries on not bringing the bronco.

I was out at Shelter Island yesterday on my buddys boat, and better yet I bought a 73 Bronco yesterday afternoon. I'll put it on my calendar, right now it looks like I will be in town that weekend.

You know chuck sells shackles now with the rubber bushing already installed.
Much simpler than fighting with what you are doing, even better is to go and get the urathane ones and stop the battle.
Come fix my kids brake lights and I will fix your shackle.
Its probably the same amount of frustration at the moment.

Ha.. I hear ya Bill... I actually called BC today and was willing to drive up and pick up a set... but nobody answered being sunday and all.
I ended up getting them in and the rear suspension swap only took me a WHOLE FRIGGIN WEEKEND!! ... JUST to swap leafs and replace shackle bushings... Still have the front to do.
You gonna make it to the BBQ? Will the rustytruck make it out by then? Would be great to see it!

Gee thanks Terry, I sat here with 8 7yr old boys and a monster truck jumper. I could have used a few brews at that point. I still have my unused ticket sitting here.
The kids truck as well as mine may actually attend that is if the freaking brake lights work. I am puzzled on this one.

Anybody in SOCAL (especially San Diego) that has not attended this event (I believe this is the third one), you are missing out. It is a blast. Good people, good BS and good times.
Make a point to come for the day or at least a little bit.
