5.0 HO heater plumbing question

I ordered a replacement heater valve the other day and it turns out that my valve is far from a stock one. Basically, I've got a 4 port valve that will allow water to flow thru it weather or not the heater core is bypassed. I've got an 89 5.0 and was wondering if going back to the stock 2 port valve will cause any cooling issues with the motor. My gut thinking is 'No', but I thought I'd ask first.

Here is a crude diagram of the plumbing (I'm a paintbrush pro!). The red flow is with the valve off, the green is with it on. If I install the new valve, the heater hose will get no flow when I close the valve. Will this cause any cooling problems in the engine?

Thanks,
Mike

I have a 2 port valve in my setup , if I close the valve the motor temperature keeps climbing, I have to keep it cracked open.
I need to install a bypass valve like the one you have.

Got an application or part number?
I tried looking thru Advance autos book but nothing was in stock.

I found something similar for a dodge pickup in the books at Napa. Not sure of the year though.

Did some more research - it loks like a 73 Ddoge Charger will work. It's not the same valve I have, but it looks like it will work with the Bronco Cable.
