Won't drive the EB in the snow!!!

Ohio roads (like most of them in the Midwest) are painted white from 1000s of truckloads of salt We're getting another 6" of snow tomorrow and I'd love to just plow through it with the old Bronco but I'm afraid it would just start to rust away.......

Do you guys keep them put away until the rain washes the roads or do you say the hell with it and drive it like an old truck should in snowstorms?

When I was in Utah I drove mine it was a daily driver so no choice but when the salt came out and once the roads were clear again I would go to the car wash and hose it down. although the locks would endup freezing on me it was a small price to pay to keep the rust away.

I see more EB's when it snows than any other time. I dont know why that is, but it seems that some people use their broncos for snow out here. I would... if it were finished.

I'll take my freedom and my guns and you can keep the CHANGE.

Considering it took almost 40 years for mine to get rusted to the point that it needs a frame off, I plan on driving the hell out of it for another 40 years as soon as I am done. Then maybe it'll be time to restore it again.

Ya i am not going lie. I keep mine off the road. cost to much to do them darn frame off's.
Louie I am geting the same storm now, it might have even paid to have a snow cat this year. Man they are fun. We have a lot of Snow in Illinois this year.
As for me the the 76 stays in the stall, and the 30k Toyota gets eat the salt.
Besides the bronco bone stock, open diffs.
Tacoma E locker rear, EZlocker front, and 33x12.50 seems to take it a little better.

Drove mine as a daily driver in Tahoe....nothing like wheelin in the snow. It is a sin to keep these babies indoors. Life's too short...let the dogs out!

Snow is hitting here again. I just dug 3 feet of it off the roof of the house today. Im with you about the salt. Its killing me just watching the f150 swim in it every day. However, I actually took my 65 Mustang down the street today, NOT real good in the snow. How did people drive these things in the snow full time?

I will not drive anything that I value in the salt ladened roads. Washing only makes it worse, taking the crud and making a salt brine that will only seep into all the cracks and crevaces of the old iron. Running in the snow is not the problem and is a blast. For you guys that run in the mountains out west, I'm know there is nothing like it. The damn salt is like dipping the rig in the ocean for 3 months.

On a side note: About a 45 min drive north from me this past week there are a couple villages that just recieved a mountain of lake effect. Where I am got spared all the joy. It all depends on where the wind blows.

I'm with Jeepster, dry salt doesn't do much, add water and it's a whole different story. Every seam, joint, bolt hole, brake, and fuel line, you name it, will be infected. Keep'm clean and dry if you want them to last, but thats just my opinion, I've lived my whole life in salt country.

someone go back and get a shit load of dimes

Born in the south by the grace of God and no salt to deal with. I have looked at the rust you guys have had to deal with and I don't know how you do it. The only real rust my 69 has is the floors and they will be replaced soon. I would hate to be afraid to drive my bronco. I do wish I had a little snow to play in sometimes though.

It's OK to give out, but NEVER give up.

i grew up in NJ. i currently live in SC. i think the bronco ratios north to south are about 1 to 1000, if that tells you anything. i too will never drive anything of value in the salt. fortunately i don't have to worry about that now...

What's a little more rust on top of the already existing rust? I run mine and don't think much about it. It's too much fun to go sliding around on unplowed roads late at night to worry about it.

I'm from Ohio as well and mine sits right in the garage until the salt is off the roads and a bright shinny day is here. I would rather drive mine in the summer than have to redo it as long as it took me the first time.

1974 Ford Bronco.
