I am looking for a way to install a kill switch on my EFI motor, one that will kill the motor when grounded. Any suggestions? I was thinking tach wire to ground.
That would work but you risk frying the coil if you leave it on along with the ignition switch too long. Lots of relays used on the EFI can be made inoperable with a switch.
Here is the specs. I have a cylinder head temp probe, that was stock on the boat motor. It was there so if the motor got over a certain temp, it would kill the engine before damage was done. I guess kill switch in the general use of the term was a bit misleading. I would like to keep this feature but don't know where to hook it up. Sounds like coil would work, ground the tach lead, as long as I remember to shut off the key.
