I just took an early Bronco on trade for some parts and I need to see if there are any tell-tale items that would tell me what year it is. It came with no doors or glove box, it has a dana 30 front and 9" rear.

It should be pretty easy to guess what year from the looks, well if its all stock that is. Does it have small or large front blinkers in the grill? Does it have the side running lights or reflectors?

VIN is only accurate way, even if the body is a different year, the VIN is the legal description of which year it is.

If its a 66 or 67 (maybe others but I don't know when they moved them to the glove box door) it should have the id tag on the drivers kick panel rather than the glove box door. I'd take a quick look at the kick panel and make sure it doesn't have a tag on it.
