Well, I finally got a chance to take it out (for the second first time) and put it to the test. It was amazing, I am over the moon with how it handled on the rocks. It’s a weapon, just point and shoot.
I did tear it up pretty good on a trail called Body Damage. Hahahaha
Thanks to all who helped with this. And thank you Steven for patience and guidance.

I hadn’t tied in my rocker armor yet…

It’s like this on both sides…
Time to tie it all in.

I'm Ecstatic that you are happy with the end result! I know it can be frustrating to take advice that may not make sense but it is all worth it when it works in the end.

I just want to add something interesting that I am now experiencing with my '73. When I bought it back in 2005, I would grimace at the fact whenever something needed to be repaired. She's a nice rolling project. Some would even say, she's complete, but let's be honest, they are never complete. Anyways, I would have a real difficult time accepting the fact that little things like a carb, exhaust, alternator, starter, ignition, etc, would go out and I'l have to fix it or repair it. I was even at the point of just selling her.

I'm glad I never sold her. Even during those times where the repairs and time parked stagnant would kill my mood. But, when it would be repaired and I could drive it again, that vigor and love would come rushing back.

Now, I've grown to accept these repairs. They don't kill my mood or make me want to send out "feelers" to see how much I would get for her. As summer is here, I can't wait to drive her. Repair her. Curse at her and smile all at the same time. So, to answer the question, "What have I done to my Bronco?" The answer is everything!

Just hit a full year of driving it to work (about 70% of the time, anyway!)

I9kQ5uk.png

That works out to 1152 gallons, 18,300 miles, and about 15.9 mpg. And 3 months of that was with a stuck wheel cylinder!

My rig's basically stock, figure 120 hp, so, compared to nvrstuk, 5 times less HP grants 1.5 times better fuel economy. I think I'm getting the short stick here :)

It IS getting a bit more expensive for the miles I put on every week wandering around but at this point in my life- I don't really care. lol

I remember buying a 77 with a 302 back in '86 with a C4 and barely got 10mpg! Drove me crazy because my original Bronco back then with a 351W, seen below and which now has the 600hp stroker in it was averaging 15 mpg... so I swapped all the drivetrain out and put it in my original- and promptly sold the doggy 302.

Pic below is with the original Bronco & 351W I built on a 6300mile, 6 wk trip with the kids back in fall of '86.

Amen.. Just do it and enjoy :)
